Japan inches closer to major power status

Japan , by definition is a nuclear nation. We have the ability and fissile material to create a nuclear weapon if we so desired it. We have showed restraint by not going into nuclear military research, as it is against our interest to do so.

We have ballistic missile capability, and if we so desired to become nuclear-armed, it is verily easy for us to do so.

It is not in our interest, right now, however.Conventionally speaking, the JMSDF is greater than the French and British Navies. I would encourage you to research more.

Having such material and tech is one thing, having operational Nuclear weapons and Ballistic Missiles is different.

My best friend, I hope my words will not discourage you from boasting about Japan. LOL I just want to "humble" you a bit and hope you don't take it serious. Good luck, Nihon friend!

Russia if gone into an insane state can go and destroy this earth if they want to. LOL Russia has influence in Central America, especially Cuba, Western Europe, and Central Asia. Look at Syria for example. It still can't topple Assad.

India is a 3rd tier that in the next decade will move to 2nd tier so I project them as 2nd tier now. It is potential.

China is a Tier 1. No doubt about it. Like my American friend gave some example above, we yield behind door cloud for our interest. We can always do more but we don't want to. You have to understand our passive-aggressive foreign policy strategy here to really understand us.

Both China and India are Regional Superpowers, offcoarse China has more influence on global scale, due to her economic power.

Grade A (Superpower): USA

Grade A- (2nd Superpower): USSR

Grade B+ (Major power+): Russia China

Grade B (Major Powers): Germany, France, UK, Japan, India

Grade B- (Middle Powers+): Canada, Australia, Turkey, S. Korea, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain

Grade C+ (Middle Powers): Iran, Indonesia, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, South Africa, Nigeria, Malaysia

Grade C (Middle Powers -) Pakistan, Vietnam, Phillipines, Thailand, Ukraine,

My own personal list that is not based on any academic studies, so feel free to critique. China and Russia are simply not superpowers, but they are on a different category of major powers due to large military, unsc, economy, resource, political influence over neighboring states, and most importantly an independent foreign policy, (the other major powers are in USA camp).

We can agree that Italy is not a major power, but it is far more influential than Vietnam, hence my use of + and -.
While I do agree with you that USA is far more powerful than anyone and certainly a notch above China/Russia. China/Russia is certainly 2 or 3 notches above Japan, Britain, France imo. If I have to rank I go like this in order.

USA
Soviet Union
China, Russia
.....
.....
Britain/Japan/France/Germany/India
.....
Turkey, South Korea, Brazil, Italy
....
Iran, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia
...

My criteria involve economic, military, resource, political, diplomatic, cultural power.

What is major Indigenous Fighter Jet Japan produced, not F-2

Is this sign of an upcoming major war?

This decade is too important as lots of alignment happening around the world. Also as you see Russia and China became allies against western hegemony as you can see those two are regional power with lots of regional allies so future is futile.

So west is preparing for threats and arming their allies and this doesn't need they want war but they want to be sure if it happens their side wins.

.
Of course not. In fact, the greater interoperability of major military powers will only ensure regional peace and stability. As well as serve as confidence building measures.
I don't think so. China might feel threatened.

But India needs superior Japanese technology. So maybe we can profit from this.

This shit will result into arms race and result into WW3. Hope India doesn't get involved in it tho.
