What's new

Japan had plundered 6000 tons of gold from China during the WWII

This would make sense if one looks at history in a fractured manner (that's how propaganda works). But one could also argue that without the destruction of war and the ensuing destruction of society by the Japanese, China would never have gone the communist way and could have developed more smoothly.
Look on the brighter side, the remote possibility of these artifacts being given to China from Japan atleast exist, unlike the possibility of obtaining Historic artifacts already destroyed in the cultural revolution.

First of all, you cannot justify one crime with another crime.

Secondly, it's not so that the Japanese invasion did not destroy countless cultural artifacts. Whole cities were leveled to the ground. Now tell me that those wholesale destructions did not affect museums, temples, palaces etc. not to mention millions of civilians.

As I said before, history does not occur out of a vaccum, it's always interrelated. Without the Versaille Treaty, it would have been very doubtful that Hitler ever had a chance to grab power.

6000 tons is almost certainly an over exaggeration.

China only has 1658 tons in reserve right now.

1658 tons are reported offiially and owned by the Government of China

I think gold were looted from civilians, households, factories, shops, museums, temples ,,,etc during the Japanese invasion
We just love gold so it might not be exaggerated

News articles based on rumors cannot be trusted.

The Secret WWII Gold Hoard That Changed the World | American Free Press

" After the war, many secret deals were made by the United States government to let Japanese war criminals, especially the top criminal, the emperor, and the royal family, off the hook. In exchange, much of the stolen gold, silver, gems, antiquities etc was secretly taken by U.S. government insiders, particularly the Office of Strategic Services (OSS)/Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and various generals in the military. This is where the secret agency got its first big financing—under the table of course. This secret dealing was itself one of the greatest crimes of the 20th century.

Noted historians and respected investigative journalists Sterling and Peggy Seagrave, in their book Gold Warriors: America’s Secret Recovery of Yamashita’s Gold, documented the multibillion dollar World War II loot, valued at perhaps over 120 billion 1945 dollars.

In December 1937, Japan declared war on China and surrounded the capital city, which at that time was Nanking. Prince Chichibu, younger brother of Hirohito, had been chosen to direct the ultra-secret treasure-looting team. This team was given a code name of “the Golden Lily” after a poem the emperor had written, and 6,600 tons of gold were recovered from Nanking alone, plus silver and precious stones. That was just the beginning of the emperor’s loot-the-world operation. "

Japan has plundered the entire invaded lands, including the Taiwan Province. That's why there is a growing historical consciousness and China's anti-fascist war anniversary will strengthen the awareness.

2015-8-31 0:13:02

Lien Chan, former chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), Taiwan's ruling party, will attend celebration events in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).

Fan Liqing, spokesperson with the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, confirmed on Friday that veteran soldiers and civilians from Taiwan who fought for China's resistance against Japan during WWII and their families will also attend the celebration. Representatives from the island's various sectors have also been invited and will be present.

Forces led by the Communist Party of China and the KMT had fought together in the war.

"We hope that through remembrance of the victory, the history and the late heroes, people from two sides of the Taiwan Straits can carry on the WWII legacy and work together for the cross-Straits peace and the revival of Chinese nation," she said.

The KMT "presidential" candidate, Hung Hsiu-chu, also said that Lien's decision should be praised for being beneficial to cross-Straits exchange as his previous visits have been contributive to the cross-Straits relations, Taiwan media reported.
