Japan-Bangladesh partnership yielding new Indo-Pacific doctrine to counter China

Moreover, BD's relationship with Japan goes back to the days of the Tokyo War Tribunal after the 2nd WW. The former Japanese Emperor Hirohito said after this trial, "If Japan can feed its own people, it can also feed the people of Bengal".
Now Japan's investment in BD is much smaller even than Hong kong's

as for "If Japan can feed its own people, it can also feed the people of Bengal", does Japan really has enough food to feed the people of Bengal"?

BD has already switched sides. It is now a pro-QUAD country nominally led by Japan on behalf of Uncle Sam.

I believe the Cold War to continue for many years, but there is less chance of a hot war in our region because of Dhaka's decision.

BD policy has not changed overnight. Note that the Matarbari Port, Dhaka Metrorail, and many others are being done with Japanese money and technology for the last few years.

Moreover, BD's relationship with Japan goes back to the days of the Tokyo War Tribunal after the 2nd WW. The deceased Japanese Emperor Hirohito of that time said after this trial, "If Japan can feed its own people, it can also feed the people of Bengal".

It was undivided Bengal then.
And Japan has not forgotten the contribution of one British Indian Judge named Radha Binod Paul who hailed from Kushtia. He is known to all the educated Japanese and who sit for the Civil Service Exam here.

Japan remains too grateful to him and it is the reason that Japan has more affection for Bangladesh/ Bengali than even for India.

Do you really understand the deep meaning of what Emperor Hirohito uttered at the end of the trial when Japan itself had little food to feed its people?

He was too grateful to Justice Radhabinod Pal of Bengal, and he expressed his gratitude for him and the land he was born in.

lOl, hopefully they would put the money where there mouth is. their investment in BD is much smaller than Hong kong's
Do not say something that you do not know about. Even today, the Japanese investment in BD is not that small. and the amount will keep on enlarging year after year when BD undertakes many important infrastructural works.

And also, Japanese investors will be pouring money into industries in their exclusive zone.

Japan has already forgiven $10 billion worth of BD debts accumulated since 1971. (This probably includes the money it spent to build industrialize in east Pakistan before 1971). Do you want to know how many big industries Japan had built in BD before 1971?

Now, about Polash Urea Fertilizer Factory built by China in Ghorasal. It spews white smoke and pollution causing asthmatic disease. China has weak technology for a Urea factory.

BD needs Japanese technology. Japan is constructing another railway bridge parallel to Jamuna Bridge. It seems, Japan and Korea combinedly want China to get out of BD the most important place in Asia.

Please note that I am personally grateful to China for its contributions. Do not make mistakes about what I wrote. But, I also believe that BD joining QUAD has stopped both sides to squabble in a hot war in our region involving nearby Burma.

Now, the Chinese military cannot make inroads into the BoB.

We definitely should not follow pakistan.

BAL autocracy does limit BDs freedom of action but the positive is because of BAL democracy deficit no one will enter into any long term alignment with BD.

The situation serves our need at the moment. We need to keep our head down and stay below the radar until we are much much stronger economically.

Momen is a perfect imbecile for the job.

I believe this development is because of BALs attempt to please the US until the election. US has been very vocal about the democracy and the upcoming election. BAL has an interest in showing themselves as US friendly.

As for Momen, he is not an imbecile, far from it.

China is not going to turn MM into an enemy to harm China's own security interest, China won't do that just becos the US and EU don't like MM.
China does not have to harm MM though it has harmed BD with an ulterior motive. With BD in the QUAD, China lost its opportunity to make inroads into the BoB via MM/ Sittwe.

China will now have only one route open, which is the Malacca Strait.

LOl, when was the last time Chinese military makes inroads into BoB? you must be living in your fantasy world for too long.

We have clear data every year, do you deny that Hong kong actually invests more in BD than Japan now? and you believe Japan's investment into BD will only grow bigger, how can it happen when the economy of Japan itself becomes smaller year on year?

Literally speaking China does not buy a dime of Bangladeshi products. All trade is one way. Who cares ?

China: 🙀👀👀👀👁️👁️👁️

Help, help India got Bangladesh on it's side. Now I'm so super scared! lol

Bangladesh does solidify Indian defense lines in the North East versus China. It is obvious from the geography

Do you think China will openly declare that it will take control of a land route from Kunming to Sittwe in the Bob of Burma? China fears that the Malacca Strait will be blocked by Western power in times of war.

Why do you think Rohingya were expelled from Arakan by Burma but with the tacit approval of the govt of China? China vetoed BD in the UN on the Rohingya issue. China wants oil/ gas from Arakan and does not trust the Rohingya who might destroy the gas pipeline in Arakan.

Anyway, the Chinese ploy has failed now after BD entered the QUAD alliance, and two Japanese navy vessels visited BD ports immediately.

We don't really care, we never controlled that part of land in the past and won't bother to do that in the future, you seems to have lots of trouble to understand that China is different kind of power from US, China never tries to control or dominate, we just like to be left alone and do our business with everyone. you should stop looking at China from America's perspective, whoever you align with doesn't concern China.
