Japan announces plans to put a man on the moon by 2030 as 'Asian space race' intensifies

The absurd name called Space Race. There is no Space Race between asian countries. If there was such a race, there would be some sort of common aim. But all these countries are following it's own interest in space capabilities.
India's mars mission was a technology demonstrator in a way. Now the satellite launch industry is generating more revenue than before.
Chinese space station is another advancement of Asian space capabilities. That's in their interest.

All the technological advancements in space are doing good to us people on this earth. While the earth is slowly becoming uninhabitable.
Calling it Space race is something created by some peanut brain media 'scientist' who is still can't get over with the cold war era space race between USA and USSR.

Japan plans to put a man on the moon by 2030, according to a new proposal by the government's Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (Jaxa).

It is the first time Jaxa has announced its intentions to explore the lunar surface, and will most likely form part of an international mission, the agency said.

Jaxa's plans, announced Wednesday, mean Japan is joining a host of other Asian nations in what is being dubbed the 'Asian space race'.

It is the latest in a series of ambitious plans announced by Asian countries, with rising competition for space-related power mirroring the space race raged between the United States and the USSR during the cold war in the mid-20th century.

In December 2016, China announced its intentions to put a man on the moon by 2036, as well as plans to land a rover on Mars by 2020.

India became the fourth country to plant its flag on the moon in 2008, behind the US, Russia and China, and plans to land a second unmanned probe on the lunar surface by mid-2018.

The country is yet to announce plans for a manned mission to moon.

Jaxa's moon mission was proposed to a panel at Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology this week, which is responsible for directing the country's space exploration.
India has no plans for even a manned flight to LEO.
So fight is between Japan and china.
And ofcourse Japan will easily win with the spate of rocket failures china is having.

Have Western powers even been to the moon? All I kept seeing are moon-landing videos filmed from sets built on Earth.
:lol:Let me guess. You are the one who believes moon landing was fake.:enjoy: Just to beat the soviets.

Well the US currently is the only nation that has the ability to take super high resolution shots of the moon.

The Chinese don't have the resolution needed:

China releases ‘world’s highest resolution’ lunar images
"China published a set of full coverage of moon map and moon images with a resolution of seven meters captured by the country’s second moon orbiter, the Chang’e-2."

"The scientists also spotted traces of the previous Apollo mission in the images, said Yan Jun, chief application scientist for China’s lunar exploration project."

Nope still not believe. It's so easy to digitize stuff with modern software. BTW, I hope you all realize NASA has never released a single photo to the public that hasn't been manipulated. For example, Mars isn't red. The skies of Mars look almost like Earth, not exactly, but definitely not the reddish tone every one believes in. There was one instance they forgot to red colorize a pic of Mars at a conference, and someone picked it out.

Too much overwhelming evidence debunking US has ever set foot on the moon...

If you don't even trust the Chinese (and yes I agree with you they have zero integrity) then short of you being brought to the moon which other nation's pictures would you believe?

If you don't even trust the Chinese then short of you being brought to the moon how can it be proven to you??

Wow. Those things still there after how many decades? Maybe China letting US save face by adding those in digitally, like how a lot of fireworks at the 2008 Beijing olympics were actually CGI fireworks. There's plenty more under the table negotiations between the G2 than economics, like maybe a deal was reached where no space-faring powers will expose the dubious landings done many decades ago...

So I take that as the answer "I don't trust any nation to supply evidence". So that makes it case closed and there is nothing more to talk about.

Yeah riding on the horseback of NASA will probably feasible for them.
