Japan and Taiwan to Strengthen Military and Security Partnership

You guys don't have the land or resources, nor the technology.

It is impossible to form a continent of your own.
If we take China out from the earth geography, the sea level will drop, there will be more land to explore, scientifically.
We are talking about in Asia. We have no interest to dominate the world. We are not a hegemony like the US. We only concern the region we live in. Get it, my friend?
You did read the part about Realism theory in my thread "What does China want?", didn't you? Let's me say it again in case you did not:
"First is the realism’s definition of the world system: it is a non-government system, each nation aims for the highest priority which is the survivability of its own by maintaining and improving its power. Concerning about power brings forth competition because everyone is afraid of each other. So big countries develop their power to the maximum level to successfully compete with other big countries, to gain advantage on the balance of power, moving towards world domination.

Source: What does China want?"

Different nations, different flags, different ideologies, same ultimate goal.

Show us the sign we want world domination. Let also remember, theory is just theory. In practical term, we already declared we have no interest.

Our ultimate goal is to destroy Vietnam because they are such an important player on the world stage. Xunzi got it all wrong.
:cheesy:

I didn't discount anybody, I know who's in Asia.

What risk, to who? If we go to war with Vietnam, Thailand is going to think they are next? Don't fall for your own propaganda, in the South, only Vietnam and Philippines are in active disputes with China. Even Malaysia is in a take it or leave it mood.

In terms of economics, we are ASEAN's number one trade partner, at what point does Vietnam take over that role?

In ancient China, first empire Qin unified China by destroying the 6 nation alliance by using economics and political gains to bribe two to leave the alliance, a few others sent nobody and waited to see what would happen, and then there was in fighting between the partaking parties over supplies, missions, and command structure.

That was when Qin was threatening all 6 nations. Today China threatens not even a little bit, most of Asean, and rest of Asia, sans Japan and maybe a tiny bit India.

Your unified alliance means nothing, how do you think the partaking parties that have no active stake is going to feel when 1000 body bags arrives every day, I mean if they have that many men, would their people question why be in this war.
I don't believe in letting other fight our wars. VN has no experience fighting along side other countries, furthermore if there is a war, it will be on our land, fought by our people. VN never expect anyone to send troops here fighting. To train troops, to advise strategy is okay, but to fight, at least this current govt won't do it. We expect Japan, Philippine to speak up against China action, supply VN with military and non-military aids (which will be returned after the war, we did that even to China in VN war). I am talking in the case a VN-China war happens, which certainly will be a long war.

:cheesy:
To the world, VN is insignificant. To ASEAN, VN is just a member. But to China "Moving Southward" strategy, VN is the first big stone that China either breaks it and passes or goes around it. And being a giant, China doesn't like taking the long way. Understand what I am saying?

I know that China just wants to restore its former glory, but that former glory has already been divided and taken by many countries. To restore it, China will have to take it from others, starting with neighbouring countries. And they will not give up without a fight. And when a fight starts, it's hard to know if China will be satisfied with its original glory alone.

A sign that I want to point out is China developing more nuke, while US and Russia are cutting theirs down.

Speaking about the risk China brings to the region, Japanese lawmaker Keisuke Suzuki of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), said that security cooperation between Taiwan, Japan and the U.S. is very important.

Why are there Taiwanese and Chinese flag at the same time? I thought China policy is that Taiwan is a part of the territory, and the current Taiwanese govt is illegal?

Don't worry about it its just a military agreement. legally Japan can't do jack shit to help Taiwan. Because the Japanese government recognizes the PRC as the one true China.

Advise strategy won't work, aside from the fact ASEAN or rest of Asia has no experience fighting, US has no experience fighting with such terrible equipment.

As to sending supplies, any ships sending supplies to an enemy is an enemy and thus could be sunk according to international norm.

It will be a short war, navy batle will be short and decisive, while on land, the Vietnamese peasants that would die for the cause already died, and today they won't do it again.

Also recent Chinese moderization efforts has found, a well equipped army with old ideas of war will lose badly to a new army. The last ocunt was one platoon destroys one battalion.

Now Vietnam has far worse eqipments than us, so it's far more likely one regiment of Vietnamese army can't touch one platoon.

It is you who should respect life and hope for a short war, not mix in with civilians and make us shoot at civilians.

Vietnam isn't a stone, just like when Japan defeated China it didn't mean much internationally, only Russo Japanese war propelled Japan to world power. Us fighting Vietnam is a waste of time and resources, it is a already established power that we need to knock down a peg, right now only Japan fits that bill.

You are overrestimating the importance of Vietnam. Certainly you can be important, but today at less than 2000 per capita, you are nothing but a sub Saharan African nation in east Asia.

At least some sense, yes, we don't know where China will stop, but the thing is, the world will be multipolar, so we will need to stop at some point, no one force can dominate the world for sometime when the Rise of China is complete.

Yea right, US already has thousands as does Russia, even if they cut and we build it still won't be close in 30 years, but it's enough, we just need to destroy the world one time, 10 times seems useless.

PRC should learn something from ROC. ROC was the major victim of Japan during WW2 and see how the two are lovey-dovey now.

Oh and don't say things like "They (the victims) were all Chinese","they were all our people". If you truly think that, then don't point your missles towards Taiwan. Last time I check, PRC set up huge radar systems along the coast and interfered the Taiwanese radar systems.

Taiwan a major victim of Japan ??? The only victims were the aborigines. The Taiwanese Chinese in Taiwan had a good life throughout WW2 !

By ROC I meant the ROC govt and the people under their rule in WW2. As I know they control many area in South China provinces.

Exactly. We still pursue the case with Agent Orange, but take further steps to reinforce our relationship with US. When in war, hate the country not the people. When in peace, hate the individual not the country.

What make you so sure that this won't turn from a navy clash to an all-out war? Military advisors might not be familiar with the equipment, but they might be familiar with the enemy. And sure many countries would love to see how modern PLA fight.

US, at their prime couldn't block all of SCS. Even with their ships patrol around the coast we still managed to sneak up tons of supply along the coast for the South.

Like it or not, either China nukes us, or it sure will be a long war. Our strategy is the same as China, "The People's War". You know full well how it will turn out.

Your reason for China to develop more nuke is hardly valid. One flip and millions of people die, thousands of kilometers square of land become inhabitable. Russia and US have a lot more than China. True, but why do they have that much? Because at that time they put the destruction of the enemy above the survivability of their own. Because at that time they did not predict how those number of nuke will affect the world. You cannot compare the modern China with the old Soviet and US. See how much they have changed? Why use the old standard for new situation?
