An expat living in Jakarta. Look like he lives in Central Jakarta, which is a down town in the City.

Look like an Indian @jamahir @Naofumi

Yes, she looks Indian. Round faced. Maybe a Punjabi or Gujarati.

Her surname - Bakhti - sounds Iranian.

And nice that plastic carry bags have been banned.

In Indonesia, only Jakarta's urban construction is okay. Surabaya, Medan, Yogyakarta, Bandung and other cities are very poorly constructed.

What I can see is that it is more due the cost of land that is quite expensive in Jakarta, so there is economic incentive to build tall buildings for developers. As for businesses operating in outside Jakarta, they just need to rent a house or build their own office with just one, two, up until four floors. This is why other city dont look like Jakarta. I also dont know the regulation in other region, but for Jakarta it is forbidden to set up office not in a business areas. So it creates market demand for office space that is later exploited by businesses to build many scyscrapers. Indonesian also dont like to live in an apartment and prefer having their own house.

Puncak, Bogor. It is not in Jakarta, but it is close to Jakarta and people from Jakarta like to visit this place when they are in vacation. Foreign tourist who stayed in Jakarta for some days can try to visit Puncak and stay there for couple days or maybe a week if they want.

It is high land and surrounded by beautiful landscape, mostly tea plantations. The temperature is colder than Jakarta.

The next icon for Jakarta is Greater Jakarta LRT (Light Rapid Transit) project. It is projected to finish in 2022, before Indonesia host G 20 meeting in 2023.

The project is 100 % Indonesian in which the constructor is PT Adhi Karya, the signaling system provider is PT LEN Industry, the train provider is PT INKA, and the operator is PT KAI, all of them are state owned companies.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Greater Jakarta LRT or Jabodebek LRT is a rapid transit system currently under construction in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, and the adjacent area of West Java and Banten, within Jakarta Metropolitan area. It is being implemented by the central government. To be directly operated by the Indonesian State Railways (Kereta Api Indonesia), the system is planned to connect Jakarta city center with suburbs in Greater Jakarta such as Bogor, Depok and Bekasi, hence its acronym "Jabodebek".[2]

Progress so far:

Resident Areas

Many people working in Jakarta actually live outside Jakarta, like in Cinere and Bintaro which border South Jakarta.

Cinere, Depok, West Java

Bintaro, Tanggerang, Banten

BSD (Bumi Serpong Damai), Tangerang, Banten.

In Serpong, there is also Summarecon which are occupied by second generation Jakartan migrant (first migration during Soeharto era) and mostly use for resident only. Land in Jakarta is already expensive and most people dont like to live in apartment if they have already marriage and want to raise their own family. There are many residential project like this around Jakarta, later maybe I would like to bring Sentul.

Summarecon, Serpong, Tanggerang
