What the difference between JAGM and Hellfire II Romeo aka AGM-114R ?
They are have some same common :
- Weight: both are 108lb
- Tri-mode: imaging infrared, semi-active laser and millimetre-wave radar
- Warhead: both are multi-purpose tandem shaped charge/fragmentation
- Against moving targets, Fire and Forget, Top-attack
Hellfire Black, JAGM White
Difference:
JAGM 16-28km long range over Hellfire 8km
JAGM max speed >205 m/s (at a 20,000 ft altitude) slower than Hellfire max speed 425 m/s (M1.3)
The both missile are multi-platform: land (for test), air, UAV. But:
- JAGM just with helicopter gunships and Fixed-wing aircraft
- Hellfire II / R is with platform ground-based tripods, ground vehicles, assault boats, helicopter gunships, but non Fixed-wing aircraft (except UAV)
