What's new

Indonesia is developing its own indigenous attack helicopter

I dont think this project is continuing, and not really feasible too, since the market for attack helo is kinda small and dominated by more mature design

I might be wrong though
Indonesia covering such a large area , and their own needs will make this helo feasible with different versions. In my opinion indonesia needs a modernization of helo fleet and beginning of this attack helo will give outputs for different helos ( utility and multi role )

if they achieve a low price light version of this , then there will be customers from developing countries specially around south asia. They might consider co production with Philippine, Bangladesh, Vietnam and so on.

By the way, how many Gunships indonesia does have now, and how many they would need at max?

Just this heli looks like mix of F-22 , Mil , and Apache at down it looks like F-22 , then mil in mids and as reaching to upward it seems like Apache :D ( Just kidding, it looks cool and sophisticated )

^^^^^^

Sure, I agree with you if you talkin about helo market, but this is a dedicated attack helo we talkin about

Are you sure DI can break even for this particular project?my point is, DI are now in much healthier condition financially, I hope they spend their money wisely for more promising project like N219

the project is on hold, that's what i can say. Still focusing on utility and ASW helos programme.

Great, utility helo is much more feasible and ASW helo is more urgent than gandiwa

Kudos for DI in prioritizing their project, beside arent Indonesia buying apache?

yeah after all they need money to expand their business, line productions and focusing for profitable project first, PT DI today is quite pragmatic and cheapskate while doing some projects.

For apache, yes we bought them. Several examples will arrive in September for training purposes if everything going along with schedule. TNI AD had projected to have some two or three squadrons of Apache in future, but for first step we only bought eight samples for training, familiarizing and set up logistics and maintenance base first.

Aerospace business are financially demanding, so its a great move and great decision, focusing on provitable project and strengthen their production line and tooling before investing on more sophisticated and more complex project

Oh boy your army become more and more modern and sophisticated eh......, what next after Leopard 2 & Apache?

more utility helo, in which we want to equip all military district with assault helo such as Bell-412EP and light attack helo like Fennec. Indigenous IFV/APC program to made mechanized infantry brigades, need more SPAA, SPH, and so on.
