Srinagar: Pakistan violated ceasefire yet again on Monday along the Line of Control in the Uri sector. An Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer was killed in the firing by Pakistani troops. The Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service has been suspended for Monday following the incident. The Army is ascertaining if it was a ceasefire violation or an attack by terrorists or infiltrators. This came just two days after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister expressed hope that calm will prevail along the LoC as no ceasefire violations had been reported on Saturday. Over 130 ceasefire violations have been reported so far this year, the highest in the past eight years. Since October 14, the ceasefire violations have left three Army personnel dead and caused injuries to 18 people. (With additional information from PTI)
