So what type of advantage RR (with limited no. ~5000) will provide.

That why i have said read again buddy. You missed it once again.

In the first phase, nearly 5,000 jawans and officers (five battalions), specialized in counter-insurgency operations, will be shifted from Kashmir Valley to the N-E. The issue was discussed between Defence Minister AK Antony and Army Chief General Bikram Singh here on Monday.

That means 5000 is the number for just the 1st phase they will send many more thousands to the NE.

Now check the strength of a corps. Beside that IA is raising new strike corps to counter china threat.

RR will be supplement for counter insurgency, & thats good decision but don't take it as "against the china" view.

For ur info RR is the one of the most experienced troops and officers as they fight 24X7X365 with terrorists on difficult terrain and conditions.

In the war most battle harden troops counts more then regular troops.

no friend RR recruitment is from all over the army. You cannot say that they are most experienced troops. Troops shift into the RR complete their 2-3 year service, again give their service to the IA.
