J-7s are now beginning to show the signs, curious why PLAAF did not induct FC-1s been more than 2 years production started in Pakistan had China introduced it at the same time China would have atleast 100 of them and the capabilities are multifold then J-7s.

Actually, its good idea to maintenance them as alternates. Modern fight jet is very expensive and developed very fast, also produced slower. When the current generation fighter is equipped, the new generation comes, J-7 is good. Keep maintenance and prepare for the bad case.

all the J-7A-B retired, and J-7C-G, J-8 will be replaced by J-10 and J-11 , 1.5 Aviation Regiment every year, new Aviation Regiment will include 24 J-10 or J-11.

cost of one J-7 is only 3million$--5million$, air force should keep 15,000 experienced pilots, the last J-7 will retired in 2021
