J-31 possibly being tested & evaluated in Pakistan

Whether it's in 2018 or 2025, Pakistan will get the J-20, J-31 or another 5th generation fighter. And China wants this especially now in light of the fact that the Chinese have many vital strategic assets in Gwadar and all over Pakistan. Wouldn't be surprised if China does a joint venture, and gives Pakistan the know how to produce an advanced 5th generation fighter jet. Much the same way as with the JF-17 project.

My guess is pakistan has already invested a bit and gave more human resources in J-31 project. the reason why people criticise j31 is because of its first prototype which was not that good design...the second prototype will fly in december and is hell of a fighter according to the specs i got and especially the avionics that will be used. The reason PAF chief goes to italy and other countries is because they want to integrate ecm and other electronic warfare equipments from italian vendors. J-31 u peoplw believe or not but will be flying in PAF BEFORE 2020

I totally agree. The phase after that would be to get TOT for joint production of the J-31 in Pakistan.

According to my guess (or u can say "YES") , Tot is already being worked....u know its not safe to explode plans until rafale deal is officially inked on paper. i think that we will know by january or feb officially after the debut of 2nd proto bcoz we dont have any other option left now to choose. Choosing SU35 or EFT will again drag us 20 years back..Why not start inducting 5th gen..this tot work will give hell of experince to kamra and will definitely aid in paf's indigenous next gen plus fighter plan and also aviation city students will learn a lot on this 5th gen platform

NG fighter being j-31 is risky decision IF chinese dont induct them
if china wishes to induct the j-31(which it should given the size of j-20 is huge) than it would make sense
but R&D and further upgrades would be compromised if pakistan inducts j-31 and nobody else does

J-31 chief said that this jet is developed for export as first priority. They dodnt make it for PLAAF. PLAAF doesn't need this jet , they already getting j-20 , J-10C , J10A/B already available , J-11A/D ,SU-27 ,SU-30,SU-35.....and PLAN has J-15 and J-16 soon ..The simple thing is they dont need it...And J-31v2 is a very agile design

Sir, I've also learned recently that there will be two elements to the Stealth program in Pakistan. One would be getting the J-31 and Second, to build a platform internally called the JF-18, it would be a smaller single engine Stealth plane with different air-frame and tech, so like a mini J-31. While the J-31 will form the hi of the Stealth tier.

I, unfortunately, can't site the source as he is a friend of mine in the PhD program with a father in the PAF at a very high rank. So take this for what its worth. But when he tells me something, I've seen it happen and this very forum confirms he was right on previous stuff too. Thanks

better not to get a second rate fighter in first place

why are you comparing f16 with f5. 1 is medium weight and latter is light. j31 won't come that way . first or engineers will also get involved
