What's new

It's South Asia, not a mythical Subcontinent.

Is it ok for you people if subcontinent only refers to Republic of India? India is diverse enough to be called subcontinent. Pakistanis can be South Asia, Central Asia, Middle-East or any place they find home!

.
Pakistan is on the geographical border of Central Asia, Middle East and South Asia.

It's hilarious when Indians say they have a common culture when in reality it's a total farce, I remember someone posting an article of an Indian official (if my memory serves me correct) on a visit to Pakistan who on arrival noticed the vast differences between both sets of people which left her flabbergasted but highlighted that Indian's need to stop being deluded and accept the fact Pakistanis in general have squat all in common.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

Exactly right - the myth of the so-called subcontinent has been busted once and for all times.

.
lets change mythical ocean's (Indian ocean) name as well if it satisfies some one's ego :)

The Indian ocean is named after the Pakistani river Indus.

Pakistanis should be proud of the fact; the Indian ocean is named after our river Indus.

. . . .
Indians should be ashamed their identity/name comes from a Pakistani river.
The name was kept when the concept was PAksitan was not in the picture...and to RUFFY saying that Indian ocean name coming from Indus River...grow up kid
he Indian Ocean is the third largest of the world's oceanic divisions, covering approximately 20% of the water on the Earth's surface.[1] It is bounded on the north by the Indian subcontinent; on the west by East Africa; on the east by Indochina, the Sunda Islands, and Australia; and on the south by the Southern Ocean (or, depending on definition, by Antarctica). The ocean is named after the geographic location called India.[2][3][4][5]

The name "India" was originally applied to Punjab-Sindh (Eastern Pakistan), by the ancient Greeks. You slum dogs should be ashamed for stealing the ancient name of another nation.

The worst mistake the British made was when they created your hell hole in 1947.

The name India is derived from Indus, which is derived from the Old Persian word Hindu, from Sanskrit सिन्धु Sindhu, the historic local appellation for the Indus River.[15] The ancient Greeks referred to the Indians as Indoi (Ινδοί), the people of the Indus.[16] The Constitution of India and usage in many Indian languages also recognises Bharat (pronounced [ˈbʱaːrət̪] ( listen)) as an official name of equal status.[17] The name Bharat is derived from the name of the legendary king Bharata in Hindu scriptures. Hindustan ([ɦɪnd̪ʊˈst̪aːn] ( listen)), originally a Persian word for “Land of the Hindus” referring to northern India and Pakistan before 1947, is also occasionally used as a synonym for all of India.[18]

Clearly! ,another brainwashed Paksh!tani

@ Thread starter:

"Indian Subcontinent" is a historical and geographical truth and not a piece of fashionable writing that would die out.

Whenever there is an effort to mark the tectonic lines or study the formation of tall mountains and shifting of the plates, this piece will always be called the Indian subcontinent. Just as the terms Asia, Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia etc will remain in existence irrespective of the countries there, so will the Indian Subcontinent.

I understand it's a harsh truth for someone who has been fed anti-India rhetoric all his life, but some things ya know - you have to live with forever!

Yes, the name "India" is deprived from the Indus river in Pakistan (What I said at first).

You know the "people of the Indus" are Pakistanis, right?
