After leaving the EU, Britain would support Turkey to deter the European Union on the other flank.. Now Britain will share their technologies to Turkey and try to prevent Turkey's rapprochement with Russia, Iran and China.

To say that, Britain may try to get Turkiye on board against EU platform but influencing President Erdogan for Turkiye's relation is highly unlike to happen. When matter comes to national security, even being NATO member, Turkiye did not hesitate to go diplomatically offensive against US by asking for Gulen so one can have an idea about Turkiye's working relations and are getting less influenced.

Also, IMO, growing Turkiye, China and Russia relations cannot be compared to such deal alone and Trukiye is working on wider prospective in this regard hence, wouldn't limit itself by holding Britain alone. On other side, UK wouldn't push for the such condition or any clause like that however, it can be said that Tech wise, there may be preventive clause though I read somewhere, there is no condition for Turkiye on export of subjected bird yet details are awaited. I think it would to too early to say as such as far as I see these developments.

I'm not saying that this deal will prevent Turkey's rapprochement with Russia and China. I'm just saying that Britain will now play from own positions and these positions often will not coincide with the positions of Europe.
For Turkey, this situation is undoubtedly beneficial. For Britain - is a way to show themselves, as an independent player.
In this situation, I see only one loser - the European Union.

Comrade,
With Britain, its about economic interests nothing else,Turkiye is a market and the Brits make use of it,why should the Brits care for Europe after Brexit (2019 probably)?
Rapprochment with Russia and China cant be prevented and is not the goal of the Brits.
So,its all about business.

I am very happy for Turkey and wish nothing but success for this project.

Also another option is always good for Pakistan.

The march towards less reliance on the West is a must for Muslim nations of the world.

Let's hope it will be available for export to the muslim world... who knows what turkey will be or against who in the next 10-15 years...
So it's good for turkey and "maybe" the muslim world, but each of them should also develop their defense industry with ToT and such and not wait for a "maybe" good feeling hand...

Not against Pakistan or Tunisia,if thats what you are thinking.

That works out just fine for Turkey. I don't think there will be a collaboration in technology between Turkey and Russia soon but their political and military relations will improve and at least both nation's won't see each other as enemies. And that's great for Turkey.
Rolls-Royce engine for TFX will be a great plus and boost for the program since engine is the biggest stumbling block for most of next gen A/Cs. China is still struggling with is WS-series though they are getting them better. ASELSAN, Thales, Qinetiq, rolls-royce and TAI make a solid foundation for a successful 5th gen A/C.
As for Russia-Turkey relationship, they now trade and invest in local currencies. 5m Russian folks are supposed to visit Turkey this year. They can pull out Ruble from ATM machines in Turkey and spend voraciously. This is a revolution of sorts!!!

Having a mix of both wouldn't hurt. China has been a reliable arms supplier to Pakistan for decades but Turkey as of lately has also emerged as a valuable ally to meet Pakistan's defense needs. I say Pakistan should pitch in the TFX as it will lay huge base for Pakistan in the Turkish arms industry while also providing valuable know-how & tech and if need be buy the Chinese 5th gen ac based on their performance and customize the features to suit PAF's needs.

Hi,

Incidently---Pakistan's problem is a NOW problem---. If the Paf had bought the much needed aircraft in a timely manner and if over 50% of the air force was not flying obsolete equipment---you could say---what is 5 years here or 10 years there---.

But this NOW problem has Paksiatn's security held in a quandary---. It's assets are extremely vulnerable to strikes like those stated in the format of ' cold start ' doctrine---.

People---before posting should compare this situation with creating a similar but a small scale problem at their homes and communities---see what you are going to do when there is a problem at home and then react accordingly---.

Keep in mind the difference---when you don't give medicine to your child or your mother---they may die---. Nations otoh don't die just like that---they go into death throes for long long periods of time.

Also---now that you have challenged the U S by giving china the Gwadar outlet---and also covered china's flank---you have created a new threat---.

So---now your decision needs to be based on how you can utilize this situation to your benefit with the chinese---.

We shall build our own. (somehow)
Its a long term goal bro, first we should contribute one of them or both to gain experience how to build 5th gen jet especially for engine, radar, EW, ECM, ECCM, ESM and overall system intregation for our projected 5 th or 5.5th gen jet

none of them.. the PF-X will be more suitable
What do you mean?:hitwall::crazy:
