Italian firms keen on missile defence system deal with Pakistan

. .
They r old but very reasonable price Italians don't fly them they a storage .
Bro, you do understand that if we went for old Euros, it would set the course for PAF to go for the new ones one day ...also ...PAF at this time may not be sure as how to use them given the Indian recent shopping for their arsenal ?

See, I was looking for an alternative reasoning. You had it going. Smart man. I agree, the best bang for the buck for Pakistan is not to continue to buy older Aspide based tech. But to further her relations with the Russians and get S-300 (ideally S-400 but don't see this happening this quickly). Or, TOT with China on a longer range SAM (S-300 equivalent Chinese version). And locally build and produce it and run your own industry. The next variant can be built inside Pakistan within 10 years after license producing the first long range variant.

Pakistan knows how to build missiles very well obviously. We all see the constant testing going on. The only thing they need is the Seeker tech and the Radar integration with fire control systems. That's where the TOT comes into play as I suggested above.
Very precise ...It would take us only 5 years to come with our own seekers...I believe the day Pakistan decided to play this ball game ...there would be many players interested to help us ...The iron is hot ....Russian hammer can be expected to hit it in the same field ...let's see when it can happen.

No I one will come and I am amused to see your kind of laughs because your kind is not found when I am proven right.
zarvan bhai...i m sorry:cray::cray::cray::cray::cray:. What ever you mentioned wont come

On the topic of older Euros or -16's, time has come for Pakistan to start thinking about "new stuff" too. Although older -16's in EDA with MLU already done can add a huge punch quickly, you have to start looking at the future.

You simply can't fight tomorrow's wars with yesterday's jets!

We have mastered the F-16 new or old as we had mastered the F-86 Sabre ....F-16 are always welcome ...but to induct any more different and old tech ...I think the result would be disastrous ...we need a new tech coming from a near border neighbor ...be it China or Russia ....

Pakistan is looking for one 4.5th Generation Fighter. SU-35 and EF have most chances one of them would come you want to laugh same as SCAR haters were laughing and now SCAR won so please I have seen many people like you before also. So grow I am not in dream I know things which I am telling and yes Pakistan General who is head of procurement for all armed forces was in Russia and for a month. He was not there to play dandia
Hazrat as a certified SCAR hater! The EF cost and further its now facing a SCAR like future as nations who adopted them are now opting for F35! is it really sensible to adopt EF2000 when its future is bleak unfortunately other than Saudi Arabia and GCC have bought them because they have the necessary capital and influence of Britain is very strong on the kingdoms! So 100 million+ per plane is extremely steep.

@Tank131 @Penguin @cabatli_53 I wonder if MBDA took the initiative and offered the Sea Ceptor for the F-22P and, potentially, MILGEM (i.e. LF-2400).

They know Pakistan need good air defence system which cover most aspects of threats it faces and MBDA can offer good solution with Aster-30 block-1NT and may be block-2 with CAMM ER, Aster-15 block-1 or Sea CAMM for Ships and land based air defence.

Calling it. Pakistan will not buy anything from Italy now.

Why??

The Aster 30 has a range of 120 km, much less than the 40N6 (400-km) and 48N6 (200-250-km) missiles in the S-400. The Aster 30 is in the league of the FD-2000 (export HQ-9) and S-350.

But Aster-30 block1NT is very capable system with SRBM interception capabilty while block-2 will come soon with IRBM interception capability, and having 2 types of systems will allow better resistance against ECM, ECCM etc.

If buying from Italy, I guess one would get the Leonardo Kronos Grand, which is an AESA radar with an instrumented range of 250-300 km. The S-400 has multiple radar options, generally 400-600 km.

Arabel radar
The SAMP/T uses an upgraded version of the Arabel radar, with improved performance developed under the Aster 30 block 1 upgrade program, in order to extend the system's capability against higher speed targets and higher altitude targets. The SAMP/T system can intercept at 600km range (short range ballistic missile targets).

The Thales Arabel radar is a 3D phased array radar for surveillance, tracking and missile guidance. The rectangular, 4,000-element, phased array antenna rotates at one revolution a second. Arabel operates in the eight to 13GHz X band (I/J band) with 360° azimuthal and -5° to 90° elevation scanning.

The system can track up to 100 targets simultaneously and manage the uplink transmission of command update data to 16 missiles simultaneously. The standard Arabel radar operates at 150kW peak power and has a range of 100km.

The beam can be shaped to optimise the performance. The radar uses frequency agility and pulse compression ECCM (electronic counter-countermeasures) techniques.

YES Pakistan most likely will buy aster. But I am also hopeful for old EuroFighter and FREMM Frigates from Italy

I love you bro. :smitten:Ameen.

By the way, I think pursuing the ASTER 30 is a good prudent step, especially with Pakistan's intention to build an advanced, multi layered air-defence network.

It can take out ARM threats too, making it potent system

Yup but MBDA is also has 5 to 6 other Air Defence systems we should check them also. As for EF I know one thing last year PAF chief visit to Italy was not just a goodwill visit. As for FREMM well no report on that just my wish to see the FREMM ( French Version ) with Pakistani Navy. Also MBDA has Anti Tank weapons and other systems to offer.

Yup exactly !!!!!!!!!!!! Italy and UK want to focus on F-35 that is why they may get rid of Trenche 1 and Trenche 2 that is where Pakistan may come in and we my try to get them even if we have to take Arab help for that.

You are trying to obtain a fighter that is facing a bleak future? Are you REALLY thinking it through? We buy old F16's BECAUSE they are still used by WIDELY and IN PRODUCTION with a GREAT SUPPORT STRUCTURE.

Does EF2000 have that? NO
