I lost 10 lbs in two weeks in China. I walked so omany kms in two weeks that equals what a typical north American person would do in three months.

Why walk when you can bicycle?

cycles get stolen or parts ripped off. Its a hassle if you want to catch a bus or take a metro.
Walking is a better option where places are closely knit.

you have thriving commercial cycle service where company takes care which has lot of benefits. My point was for personally owned cycles.

I don't see any reason why people still want to own a bike.. except for those cycling lovers they do that as a hobby.

A poplar joke in China is that a thousands of years old occupation, pickpocketing, disappeared overnight cause no one carries a wallet or cash nowadays. so is bike stealing, no one needs them and no one buys them cause they are everywhere for you to take.

In China cash is also by and large disappeared, everyone uses their phones to pay and buy everything.

China used to be called the kingdom of bikes, now we still are, No.1 in both cars and bikes.
