We should remember past atrocities but the standard should be post WW2, as it knocked some sense in world powers. Anyway, US and France did horrific war/colonial crimes post WW2. The french who were enslaved by Nazis, and liberated by Algerian/Libyan recruits, returned the favour by keeping those countries enslaved and killing its people.

The world's oldest and advanced civilisations came from Asia, Indus Valley Civilisation 3300BC-1300BCE, Ancient Mesopotamia with the Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians and Babylonians 3500 and c. 3000 BC onwards,, the Chinese civilisation from 1250 BC onwards.
The ancient Egyptians 3150BC onwards, although not Asian but made up of people from north and south of the Sahara.

however, humanity spread out over the world (i read in highschool that humanity (Homo Sapiens genome) started in Africa), and spread out through peaceful *and* non-peaceful means to the rest of the world.

and let's just leave it there, ok.

instead of constantly blaming eachother with "your flaws are way worse than our flaws" or "your flaws are just as bad as ours".

i'll continue to visit this forum, but only to give a brief glimpse of how a smart westener thinks about the topics being discussed here.

the Taliban, with their denial of having executed 20 Afghan commandos, and their ongoing invasion of moderate-Afghani lands,
have proven themselves untrustworthy, in my eyes.

and like Bush, i fear what will happen next to the moderates and girls of Afghanistan.

Afghans were being raped and murdered by NATO and allies forces. Recently Australian special forces were accused and found guilty of committing massacres of Afghans.

The carpet bombing was necessary to deprive the (forced and volunteering) German war-machine factory workers of their homes. It was not done to all of Germany.
Germany started the war, and behaved very nasty.
So the Americans and British came to the help of those suffering in Europe (and elsewhere) under nazi rule.

By the way, my grandmother was German, and she taught me the very values of not picking fights with others. Her village was carpet bombed, she was not a volunteer, and she married my grandfather and moved to his home in the Netherlands after the war.
