i agree with you that whoever was behind that, and their commanders, all the way into the bureaucratic and political ranks even, should be tried in a court of law (warcrimes tribunal in The Hague comes to mind), and if and when found guilty, punished to the maximum extent of the law.

but on the flip side of the coin you just threw me, there's the image of the many many attrocities comitted by Muslim and authoritarian governments, which go *unpunished* (so far).

however, i feel we should fix the errors in our own defense apparatus with a high priority, and i hereby invite anyone reading this to set up a well written (spelling, grammar, argumentation in prioritized sequences/paragraphs) online petition, and make that go viral.

the aim of such a petition, i feel, should be to gather lawyer and prosecuter troops and financiers to hold western soldiers that committed warcrimes, to account, and possibly punished when found guilty by an internationally recognized war crimes tribunal.

it will help keep us on the straight and narrow path of moral superiority.

You then have the deaths caused by direct strikes, and let's not wash away how many civilians died under the sanctions regime, half a million children died under that horrid collective punishment.
