Istanbul Turkey 4K. City | Sights | People

Constantinople is one of the many historic names of the city and I don’t get why you should get angry if someone uses it or not. Let’s leave those butt hurt Turkophobes and their unhealthy ideas about the city aside. No matter what they call the city it will never be their again so who cares? :D

Constantinople for me as a person who loves history is a very beautiful name of the city which Emperor Constantine the Great chose as the new capital of the Roman Empire- probably the greates Empire to ever exist.
It served as a Roman Capital and a center of the Mediterranean/Western world for thousands of years after that.
Let’s not forget that after Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered the city he made it his capital, he declared himself as a Kaiser-i Rum / Roman Caesar and that one of the names for the city up until the Turkish language and name reforms of Ataturk was Konstantiniyye.

Istanbul (a name of greek origin too) was officially named that way long after 1453 in 1928 or something. :D

Istanbul comes in many names like Nova Roma, Constantinople, Byzantium, Tsargard many more. What gets on my nerves is the butthurts who constantly use constantinople because of their hate of the Turks.

Foreign people only know Istanbul. Turkey has the perfect cities like Istanbul.

Lol to me Istanbul is unbearable in summer, i wouldnt stay there a day if not every building had airconditioning.
Spring and Fall are best seasons, winter is too cold and windy.

I've eliminated the autumn months because rain can disturb you while having fun in the Bosphorus :)

30-35 and sometimes above that, the problem is Istanbul doesnt cool down after sunset because of amount of concrete, those keep emitting the heat in the night.
Well most Turists come during summer months but i dont like heat generally so Istanbul is nothing for me in summer but you seem to live in Australia so maybe its not a big issue for you.

For us Bangladeshis 35 degrees is no problem. If it's not with too much humidity, it's even better.

Love Istanbul. As a history nerd it is pure paradise. Good infrastructure and hospitable natives makes it a must for tourists.
