Isro successfully completes the launch rehearsal of GSLV-D5
The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) has successfully completed the launch rehearsal Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV)-D5, which is scheduled to take off on Sunday. The Vehicle, carrying the GSAT-14 satellite, will take off from the Sriharikota space-port near Chennai, on Sunday evening.

"We are all set for the launch. The launch rehearsal has been successfully completed a few hours back, all results are apparently normal," said Isro.

The countdown for GSLV-D5 launch will begin around 11.20 am IST on Saturday and scheduled take off of GSLV-D5 is 4:18 pm IST this Sunday, said Isro.

The satellite built by Isro will provide many satellite based communication services to the country, including tele-education and telemedicine. The satellite will augment the in-orbit capacity of Extended C and Ku-band transponders and provide a platform for new experiments.

On December 28, the Mission Readiness Review (MRR) team and the Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) cleared the launch from the Sriharikota space port. The vehicle was then moved from its assembly building to the umbilical tower (the launch pad) on the same day.

Unveiling a raw image of the Indian cryogenic engine, slated to fly on board the GSLV D5 this Sunday; using the insider’s camera !

buddy post all the things...Isnt this engine looks ugly:-)

Ice is hot !

Cryogenics is the study of production of extremely low temperatures (below minus 150 degree Celsius) and is by far the most efficient chemical propulsion technology known to mankind.
In line with this definition, Ice, formed at a humble 0 degree Celsius can be cryogenically considered hot !
