Anyway with the launch of LVM 3 by the end this year, we will achieve a significant improvement in launch capability.

The development of the 2000 kN Kerolox engine SCE-200 will be the next big thing. Test firing will happen next year.

ISRO plans to replace the present hypergolic fueled L110 stage with a 200 tonne propellent loading SC200 stage powered by a single SCE200 engine to take payload up to 7.5 tonnes to GTO. The final aim is to upgrade LVM3 into an HLV capable of 10 tonnes to GTO.

They have another plan for a partially reusable LV with an SC500 stage with 5 X SCE200 engines as lower stage.

Which can be developed to an HLV capable of some 50 tonnes to LEO.

The Soviet Union first tested the GLL Kholod scramjet system in 1991, which was unfortunately canceled. However, reports claim that Russia is seeking to restart the program, aiming for a prototype flight by 2019.

The Chinese have test-flown air-breathing scramjet engines initially in 2011, with tests concluding by 2014.

No. Videos/photos of such tests might surface in the future, as those of other high-end projects have done so recently.

You are correct about the fact about a lot of North Indians being racists, but that varies from place to place.

Delhi is most racist in North India, with Punjab following closely behind (A lot of Punjabis have taken AIT and martial race theory seriously). In South, it is TN with its linguistic Chauvinism, and in NE ,though laid back, have a strong racial identity. And then we have Marathi manus thing.

One thing I envy about India is ISRO.
ISRO is taking huge strides in a short time.All stakeholders deserve congratulations.
India has been blessed with this great platform in ISRO.
It's unfortunate that ISRO's Pakistani counterpart is a joke.Provided a platform like ISRO,Pakistani scientists and engineers could have shown the world what they're made of.

This talent pool comes from the same sources from where the DRDO guys come . However because of political scandals and willingness of buy everything from abroad has impeded the success of ISRO to be replicated in DRDO. BARC is also a great sucess story but because of secretive nature research, it is by and large remains hidden.

There is a very big difference between ISRO and DRDO.

While ISRO need to make things (case in point this Scramjet), DRDO need to make things that are better than or equl to western products.

It is the difference between "passing an exam" and "clearing a competition".

No, I doubt this because for scramjet, you need atmospheric air fro combustion. This is going to travel in space so using cramjet in this particular vehicle is doubtful. Yes, it may be used in launching this along with booster.

Is there any more info regarding gslv ? ( engine isp, thrust, burn time, fuel mixture.. etc) hungry for some good read

We alreadt have mach 7.5 missile shaurya. However, using scram jet technology, it will be much much lighter in weight.

They told that their J series planes are better than russians and then bought Su 30 and 35. They bought even conventional subs from russia recently. They claimed that their aero engine are better than that of russia and ultimately bought AL31 for use in their plane. They also told J 20 a F22 killer but infact it is nowhere near F22. CHinese are masters of claim without any substance. When we tested A5 and told that it has mach 24 terminal velocity, immediately chinese missiles terminal speed became 26 mach. They tells DF 21 an aircraft career from ages without even a single successful test. they hypes Jl 2 for years but still nobody knows whether it is operationalized or not. They quotes the range by reducing the payload while india quotes the range of k series with 2 ton payload and CHina quote JL 2 range with 700 kg warhead.

ISRO's success is quite modest in lifting capability.. not sure when we will get a GSLV thats as dependable as PSLV.... sometimes I think they are doing all these gimmicky stuff(20 sats launch) just to avoid being asked why they are taking so long.
