Below is an interesting video of a 2009 lecture by Uzi Robin, the head of Israeli missile defense and the guy incharge of building arrow missiles of Israel, talking about Iranian engineering progress in their missile and space program. He admits being an enemy of Iran but reminds that Iran has come a long way since late 1980's when Iran had for the first time imported its first ballistic missiles which were Scud B's. He admits that Iran's capabilities are now indigenous and completely Iranian.

Another liars propaganda against Iran...Shame on the west to blame Iran which is a peaceful country within the region.....Anyways Iran has very right to defend against any attack by foreign forces...

It is no wonder that Iranian scientists and engineers are being killed one after another and Iran unable to protect them now is basically calling these killings accidents to save face with its people.

And the latest "accidental" detonation at an army base in Tehran which killed 17 Iranians including the head of rocket development organization of Iran, General Moqaddam.

The mayor of Tehran had this to say about him, which underlines that he was the person who had made Iranian rockets which put Iran's first satellite into space:

".... His tireless efforts gave us the honor to be able to launch a satellite into space. One day a group of 5 or 6 of us went to give a report to [Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei]. When he heard the reports, he turned to us and said, 'It has never happened for Mr. Moghadam to make me a promise and not to keep it. He has always made his promises happen in the best possible way.'

Martyr Moghadam was unknown in the Revolutionary Guard. Our enemies knew him better than our friends. He is irreplaceable." Iran's Missile Architect Was Best Known To 'Enemies,' Says Tehran Mayor

A scholar always respects another scholar, irrespective of friend or foe .Very valuable piece of video.

I also hope, Indian scholars someday respect Pakistani scholars as well.

We do actually,as a scholar.I will never stop respecting Abdus Salam for example. My profs often used to speak highly of him.

It would be nice that this respect goes to all scholars eg also to Iqbal and Qaid e Azam among many others.

Seems like a personal question to me..Well,no problem at all there!!

I often read Iqbal's poetry, share a few lines with my friends.Iqbal also wrote the national song

I have not read much about Jinnah as a scholar though, pardon my ignorance there.I have known him more in the form a political figure.

Another piece of news has just come in. One does not know which side to believe anymore in this game. was this recent blast in Iran an accident or an assassination. Here is the news about it which says the Iranian general who was killed in that blast was actually testing Iran's first intercontinental ballistic missile:

A senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander killed in an explosion at an ammunition depot west of Tehran last week died while testing an intercontinental missile, his brother was quoted by a government newspaper as saying Saturday.

Mohammad Tehrani Moghaddam, himself a Guard officer, also said in an interview published Saturday that his brother Gen. Hasan Tehrani Moghaddam had founded the missile unit of the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
Gen. Moghaddam was killed together with 20 other Guard members Nov. 12 at a military site outside Bidganeh village, 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Tehran. The Guard said the explosion was an accident, and occurred while military personnel were transporting munitions.

But Mohammad Tehrani Moghaddam was quoted by the government-run Iran newspaper as saying that his brother was killed when the weapon exploded during testing. He did not dispute that the explosion was accidental.

“He lost his life while doing a final test of the missile,” Moghaddam said. “The project was in the final testing phase. It was related to an intercontinental ballistic missile ... It was a completely high-tech, confidential process.”

These key quotes were left out of the text printed by the newspaper. They appeared on the paper’s website early Saturday, but were deleted later in the day.

The Guard has praised Moghaddam as the founder of the elite unit’s surface-to-surface missile capability.

In a statement released after the explosion, the Guard said it would not forget Moghaddam’s “effective role in the development of the country’s defense ... and his efforts in launching and organizing the Guard’s artillery and missile units.”

Moghaddam headed a “self-sufficiency” unit of the Guard’s armaments section, it said.

In the interview, Mohammed Tehrani Moghaddam said that this brother had set up Hezbollah’s missile capability. “Hasan ... visited Lebanon and created Hezbollah’s missile unit there,” he was quoted as saying.

Iran is a key supporter of Hezbollah and is believed to funnel it weapons and millions of dollars in funding, though Tehran denies arming the Shiite group. Hezbollah, also closely allied to Syria, boasts a heavy arsenal of rockets capable of reaching deep inside Israel.

The Revolutionary Guard, Iran’s most powerful military force, is in charge of Iran’s missile program.

Iran’s arsenal boasts missiles with a range of about 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) that were designed for Israeli and U.S. targets. The missile capability, along with Iran’s nuclear program, are among the reasons why Israel considers Iran its most dangerous enemy.

Moghaddam said his brother was also involved in Iran’s space program, assisting the rocket that took an Iranian satellite into orbit.

He didn’t elaborate but said Hasan was favored by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Moghaddam himself was once Khamenei’s bodyguard.

The Guard initially said 17 Guard members were killed in the explosion. The semi-official Mehr news agency listed the names of 21 victims prompting the military force to say some of those critically injured had succumbed to their wounds later.

No wonder the secrecy, ICBM would be a huge win for Iran's defensive program. US in most cases are free from retaliation on its own soil, but what if Iran would be capable not just hit US bases in ME, but US itself?

Credit of both Indian and Iranian missile and nuclear program goes to disgraced Pakistani AQ Khan and B.Bhutto.

First of all AQ Khan is not disgraced. Secondly Iran had bought just centrifuges from Pakistan and not missiles. Iran already had Scud plants which they had got from North Korea and there is no evidence that Pakistan and Iran collaborated with each other on missiles, ever. Though they both did collaborations with North Korea and China. Thirdly, Indians got their technology from Russia which had even helped them to launch a satellite in 1979.

B. Bhutto had nothing to do with the program. Bhutto is another case.

Yes, it would make Iran completely safe from any kind of invasion. No nation holding intercontinental ballistic missiles has ever been invaded in history since the retaliatory power would make such an invasion too costly and bloody. All nations US has invaded were defenseless in the sense that they could not bring the war to US the same way US bombers bring the war to them.
