What's new

Israeli supermarkets boycott Turkish products

it's a general 'game'

Turkiye is playing the cards right, and is winning.

it's gotten to the point that even Robert Gates is asking the EU to accept Turkiye. Why? Because Turkiye is moving eastwards.

Neo-Ottomanizing as I like to put it.

It is, important however, for Turkiye to remain loyal to its secular Constitution. That is my own opinion.

p.s. Turks make enough tourism revenue from Russians alone. Lost israily tourism would amount to peanuts. No problem for Turkiye.

Intel is Israeli? Last time i checked it is an American company.
The current Intel architecture has its roots from the Pentium, which came from Intel Israel. I know because I was a contract field engineer doing fab equipment installs. Not just Intel but Motorola, Texas Instruments and other major names were my clients. So if you use an Intel processor, thank a Jew.

I have no issues with thanking a Jew my overclocked I7 920 works great. The terrorist state of Israel on the other hand i have problems with.

I guess , Turkey knows exactly what they are up to. They have probably calculated their profit and loss before formulating the current foreign policy. To my little analytical mind , Turkey is being gradually made an alternative to Iran or Saudi Arabia to lead the Middle Eastern countries . The objective is to diminish the Iranian influence in the region . This is all happening with the active consent of the Israelis. After all , the Turkish military ( who control the key Turkish policies) is very secular , powerful and pro-Israel.

Perhaps not with the consent of the military, Turkey is slowly moving away from the secular model. Those in the military that dare to object are being removed. The same with the courts.

The Turkish government's arrest of 49 generals and high ranking military officers this week is being described as a political earthquake. The arrests are part of an investigation into an alleged plot to overthrow the country's Islamic-rooted government . But there are growing concerns that the arrests could signal the start of a new era of authoritarian rule.

One pro-government newspaper headline screamed "Coup Leaders Hammered." The 49 serving and retired senior military officials are all reportedly being interrogated in connection with an alleged coup plot, called Sledgehammer.

Since its foundation in 1923 the Turkish Republic has been a strict secular state, and the army, which views itself as the guardian of the secular state, has forced four governments from office since 1960. But until these arrests, according to political scientist Cengiz Aktar of Bachesehir University, the military considered itself untouchable. "Its historic it is something that the country has never seen before, I mean four star generals although retired, have been arrested en masse.

financially yes....but at least there was more unity and solidarity.

the americans were lining up and arranging ''appointments'' when they could go to buy gas at the stations!!!!

no gas, you cant drive your supply trucks; you cant run your industrial machinery (not that American industry is exactly competitive anymore)....basically, you can't do jack $.h.1.t!!

You must've written this in a fever induced delirium but here are some facts. The US imports a small fraction of its 'gas' from the middle east. So a future middle east oil embargo "can't do jack ****" to us. It will hurt our allies in the short term but nothing a few quick regime changes won't fix.

U.S. Finished Motor Gasoline Imports

As for American industry, we can do plenty...

if your comrade on this forum is to be believed, it's roughly 12%

the demand for oil in the U.S. is relatively inelastic, but it would harm your economy severely in the very hypothetical event that Middle East were to cut exports.

:disagree:

the Chinese are buying your debt and walking over you at the moment

will GM offshore all its operations to China?

The only people who still genuinely love American cars are the Saudis

brother can you elaborate? Ever since independence we have had nothing but excellent relations on govt. level. Actually it is on people-to-people level where we need to expand ties further. Trade as well, which stands at only a little more than $1 billion mutually.

Alama Iqbal, and our nation's founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah saab held Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in great regard. The relationship blossomed under Field Marshal Ayub Khan, and has continued upwards and becoming stronger and stronger. I can't think of any time when we had any differences with the Turks.

That still make no sense. Why would you want to boycott Israeli products if you have a problem with this 'terrorist state of Israel'? Either you boycott everything that has origins in Israel or a Jew touched it. Or you boycott nothing at all. Sounds like you are just trying to make a front by 'boycotting' this but not that.

It makes perfect sense just ask the Jews that are anti-Israel. Now run along and derail another thread. I never even claimed i was going to boycott anything in the first place.

once the militaries also stop cooperating, then israily can kiss Turkish Annatolian a$$

like i said, israily is a tiny spec of dust on the world maps. What are they gonna do. LoL.

I resent your tone.

And BTW it is the same tiny spec of dust that has made the muslim world to swallow metal nuts.
With Saudi in its side against Iran, it has successfully divided the muslim nations unity. In other words, It successfully prevented the Muslim "Ummah" from taking "Chummah" of each other.
