When ? in 2020? I don't understand euphoria among our indian members when India buys derby's and Mica's . Either develop these indigenous Missile or close those projects but please don't waste taxpayers money with simultaneous developing them but buying from abroad.

Ever heard of Stop gap measures?? The Astra was supposed to be the primary BVR missile for LCA but due to delays it wont be ready to be integrated by the time the Tejas in inducted and it will be extremely stupid to have a BVR capable fighter with no BVR missiles. When the Astra is ready it will be integrated in Tejas.
As far as buying Mica is concerned - we dont have the source codes of the radar of the mirages - we cant integrate any missile apart from french Mica on the Mirage 2000-5mk2.

As for Rafale , we would get all source codes, TOT.. except for maybe around 40% radar and engine tech
