It still exists as a region? where?
Right Here.
In fact term "Palestine" is Western-Zionist. Arabs called it
Suriya al-Janubiya i.e. Southern Syria.
and Israel was never a state before 1948 so your point is?
No, Israel was a state before 1948. And if you count all Jewish states in this land then there were 3 Jewish states before current Israel.
fact is that a piece of real estate called Palestine inhabited by an indigenous people was overrun by foreign settlers from Europe who occupied it and now calls it Israel. That's enough for me.
Today in Palestine live
12 times more Arabs than when European settlers arrived. And their life standards are higher then of their neighbours.
First Palestinian roots are older than the arab conquest of Palestine and span all the way back to the Canaanites.
First Palestinians, ie. Philistimes were Greek sea people who invaded it in 1st millenium BC. But today Palestinians are not Greek, they are mix of Arab migrants from different countries. Yasser Arafat, father of Fatah was born in Egypt and Sheikh Kassam, who is considered a spirital father of Hamas was born in Syria.
Fact is that jews are the people that have had least control and say in the lands history. For instance Arabs/muslims have controlled Palestine for 1400 years, the claimed jewish kingdom of Solomon lasted how much 73 years?
Israelite conquered most of Holy Land in 1200 BC and their kingdom was destroyed in 586 BC. Independent Hasmonean kindgom lasted for 100 years and another 100 years as Roman protectorate. Thats over 800 years total. Arab conquest started in 636 AD and already in 878 AD they losty control to Turkic Tulunids. If add 100 years of Fatimid rule that gives total less than 350 years of Arab rule. So even Southern Spain was much longer Arab than Palestine.
Don't mix things op, and decide what you want to say. Arabs attacked jews and vice versa in their local areas as the partition plan was not into effect at that time, difference is that arabs did not take over any new territory and was in defence.
1) Partition plan was declared in November 1947 and supposed to come into effect in May 1948.
2) Jews accepted this plan, Arabs rejected and began their attacks.
3) Arab attacks reached peak in March 1948. By that time Jerusalem, the largest Jewish city with 100,000 Jewish population was completely isolated.
4) Thats why Jews started their first major offensive campaign in April 1948.
5) Offensive was successful, but still, by May 1948 Jews controled less than half of territory which was supposed to be their according to partition plan:
6) Then Arab armies invaded and bigger mess began.
Outside arab involvement was as mentioned was mainly after the declaration of independence by Israel.
There was "Army of Salvation" lef by Fawqi al Kawukji and many volunteers.
No it's not about greed, it's about taking back what was not yours to take.
And please don't talk about that greed, as Israhell has illegally annexed and occupied land that makes it 110% larger than was given to it in the partition plan and still doesn't want peace. Even when asked to give back some of the land occupied.
According to Partition Plan Israel was about 13,000 km2 (1.3% of Egypt) as result of the 1948 war it grew to 20,000 km2 (2% of Egypt).
You obviously don't know anything about US aid to Israel. Watch the video and learn.
I prefer official doccuments rather than youtube videos
For example in 2008 total US aid was 49,057 mln
Aid to Middle East and North Africa (Arab states + Israel) - 13,957 mln
Aid to Israel - 2425 mln
http://pdf.usaid.gov/pdf_docs/PNADR900.pdf
That means Arabs got 4.8 times more aid than Israel.
