Israeli PM Netanyahu also said that the returning to the pre-1967 borders was impossible.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the US President Barrack Obama in Washington but promptly rejected President Obama s proposal that Israel return to the 1967 borders for the creation of a Palestinian state.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu told President Obama that Palestinian President Mehmood Abbas had to choose between peace and Hamas. On the other hand, President Obama said that the situation is Syria is alarming for Israel and the United States.

The real test of Israel's "rejection" will come after Obama's speech to AIPAC this weekend. IF Obama doesn't retreat, then we will have to see if the American Jewish lobby punishes him in some way. My guess is that American Jews are so wedded to the Democratic Party that they will bite their tongues. Some commentators say that Obama has picked this fight with Netanyahu on purpose because he does not want to have to do anything about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict until after his re-election in 2012. Obama is setting Netanyahu up for the "blame" if there are no peace talks from now until 2013.

If what your saying is true, Don't you think its a bit cowardly to play politics while jeopardising the lives of millions? I don't really know how credible your claim is, but if it holds any value, Obama should be ashamed of himself. I pretty much felt the same way when America was debating about the Iraq war and whether it should pursue it, or whether it will affect this party or that party.
