Israel today successfully test fired an advanced ballistic missile from a base outside Tel Aviv, with media reports saying that the weapon was capable of striking Iran.

A statement issued by Defence Ministry said the missile was fired from the Palmahim Israel Defence Forces base in central Israel.

"The test was part of an examination of a new missile currently being developed by the defence establishment," the Ha'aretz newspaper reported quoting the official statement.

Other foreign media said that the rocket fired was a Jericho missile capable of carrying nuclear warhead and striking Iran.

The firing of the missile comes amid media reports here that Israel was mulling a possible military strike to foil Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Ha'aretz said that Israeli leaders had held discussions on possible pre-emptive military action against Iran, though no decision are believed to have been made.

Well, no to Pakistan drawing in because that would be declaring war on a country that is far from sight while a mammoth like India is right next to you. Pakistan has bigger worries than Israel.

No one said anything about nuking Iran because it would be unacceptable to actually nuke a country these days, with all the fallout it could cause to neighboring countries like Russia, India, Pakistan and China.

Israel`s goal is to terminate Iran`s nuclear program, they are the one`s attempting to get the nuke while Israel had it for over 30 years and has never used it.

When religious lunatics control a country that is hell bent on destroying Israel and trying to get nukes to do that is not acceptable, to say the least.

I do not see what all the fas is about. Actually, if Israel attacks Iran it will do Pakistan a favour and preserve the latter position as the only Muslim country with nuclear weapons. So, Pakistan's real interest is to let Israel to use its airspace for launching the attack.

that's a difference between a nuclear reactor for civil purpose
and a nuclear reactor for military purpose
facts as explained show it was clear it was not for military purpose
