Israel paying agents to post pro Israel Propaganda on Internet forums & blogs!
The Foreign Ministry unveiled a new plan this week: Paying talkbackers to post pro-Israel responses on websites worldwide. A total of NIS 600,000 (roughly $150,000) will be earmarked to the establishment of an “Internet warfare” squad.

The Foreign Ministry intends to hire young people who speak at least one language and who study communication, political science, or law – or alternately, Israelis with military experience gained at units dealing with information analysis.

Beyond the fact that these job requirements reveal a basic lack of understanding in respect to the dynamics of the online discourse – the project’s manager argued that “adults don’t know how to blog” – they are not too relevant either. An effective talkbacker does not need a law degree or military experience. He merely needs to care about the subject he writes about.

The sad truth is that had Israeli citizens believed that their State is doing the right thing, they would have made sure to explain it out of their own accord. Without being paid.

Foreign Ministry officials are fighting what they see as a terrible and scary monster: the Palestinian public relations monster. Yet nothing can be done to defeat it, regardless of how many foolish inventions will be introduced and how many bright communication students will be hired.

The reason is that good PR cannot make the reality in the occupied territories prettier. Children are being killed, homes are being bombed, and families are starved. Yet nonetheless, the Foreign Ministry wants to try to change the situation. And they have willing partners. “Where do I submit a CV?” wrote one respondent. “I’m fluent in several languages and I’m able to spew forth bullshit for hours on end.”

yes yes even if they re write Talmudiya like books no one is taking their word...liars remains liars forever!

well... I believe this exist in almost every country...
depends on how "directly" are they doing it.
Propaganda exist everywhere, within our daily lives...
Some people are conscious enough to notice, some don't.

*for example:
1. Make the media influence the population, let their population do the job.
2. Setup a department, paying people to do the job.

While most developed countries using the first method, developing countries might have to directly pay people to go tackle them.
(Or some developing countries simply ignore those propaganda.)

And what's wrong with the isralies doing that? The Chinese government does the exact same thing.

agree..
The most common way is the first one by feuling people's mind through media and as a result they all become active as a propaganda department and what we call as a Propaganda Nation :police:

well it's high time agents on the forum own-up..

Its not just the Israelis doing it. Almost every country does it. The better the media in the country, the better the propaganda will work.

For example, media can make one suicide bombing look like incredibly vile (and yes, it is vile) whereas it can make carpet bombing look perfectly acceptable and heroic!

Another example, media can make a group they favour into 'freedom fighters', a group they are neutral towards 'guerillas' and a group they despise into 'terrorists'. The objectives of all these groups might be the same!

Propoganda has been part and parcel of politics, whether domestic or international, for millenia. So this news is hardly surprising.

Back to topic. The truth is that Izzies are losing the PR battle like a rout ...

And you wonder why!

i will post that article every time someone tries to defend israel online :)

lol, what does it matter if they have paid people or not? every country has nationalistic people that will defend their country. Russia, China, and the U.S. have Government employed people who's Job is to patrol cyber space? But even then there are far more none paid people that make it their mission to defend their countries positions then those that receive official compensation.

The Chinese are probably the best at it.

For Chinese I believe it wasn't simply because the government...
In most case, its those Chinese nationalist (especially Han Chinese)... doing it... (beside domestic issues... almost every Chinese is a nationalist... the ones that ain't would be labeled with the traitors tag, in most case)

Chinese Nationalism is a huge thing...
its gets to a point where even a lot Chinese consider them annoying...
In almost every forum, news sites... you can find them everywhere...

*Chinese nationalist does not necessary support the government.
They(like me) love and support China, but government are not always included.

During Gaza invasion and masacaring of palestinians, I received an e-mail calling to sign a petition to American president/the UN to ask them to presurize israel to stop genocide of the palestinians. i signed the petition and droped a few lines. couple of days later i received another email thanking me for my support and signing the petition for the israeli army against the palestinians, now what is this?

I agree with you. These pompous, deeply insecure fellas (often bereft of knowledge or decorum or both) are a major source of irritation to me personally. Of course, many say the same about me.

Who am I to judge? I am only one troll among legion. Beyond that, there is nothing we can do except to accept it as a "phenomenon".

On-line "democracy" - as raucous (though not entirely harmless) as it gets.

Hats off to the moderators of this esteemed forum, though.
