missiles unlike rockets are ALWAYS supersonic, there are no subsonic missile.........the fact that you hear the sound 2 to 3 second BEFORE you see the fireball suggest the projectile is slower than sound.

On the other hand, you can't scale down the destructive power of a missile, it's not a grenade or bomb, missile require a very stringent payload calculation before you can launch a missile, because unlike unpowered bombs and grenade, a missile is under power.
