Interesting you pointed that out. And to which I must point out as well Immediately after the 6 day war Saudi Arabia gave its full support both financially and Militarily to Egypt. We might fight amongst ourselves but we know who the real enemy is.

We Might have our differences however I support Egypt Joining the GCC and single Arab Military with Egypt Included.

Arab union based on "Arabism" has proven time and again to be a complete failure. Arabism must stop once and for all in my opinion.
The reason why GCC survived is the fact that it is first and foremost an "Economic Union" Economy is much much more incentive than "Arabism".

It took more than 20 years for GCC countries to establish a real viable Military union and even that is not completed yet but it is a work in progress for the past 2 years. Having complete military ability to work in concert with each other is a hard thing. For instance previously each country in the GCC looked after its own and had its own independent military than other states. Only now do they work to increase united military capability and setting of standards and having same type of munition and maintenance needs. Also doctrine must change to be more flexible to other nations and so on and on of things that are currently being implemented. And to integrate any country in this will also require hard work.

Why did Arab armies failed when they were attacking Israel?? Because according to Sun Tzu "When you fight a much larger force then divide that army into two and the two into four so even though you fight a larger enemy your army will in fact fight a smaller one this way" (Forgot actual quote working from memory). Israel successfully divided Arab armies in this way.

Arabism is long abandoned however it is necessary to form a common Union right now for the region no longer have to rely on foreign powers. I would very much support an EU of the middle east. however Military is a long time away the first step is building our economies.

I see the second revolution the one happening one hundred years after the first one (Against the ottoman) as the perfect opportunity to cleanse the "Arab" world from the disease of Arabism. Egypt and Syria are the highest "Arabismized" countries we have to not forget the UAR (United Arab Republic) a failed state which was started by these two countries on the premise of "Arabism".

Better Union then with Syria and Egypt would have Been Libya and Egypt, Gaddafi during that Time was a Arab nationalist before he went pro Africa Libya also had resources. he idolized Nasser as well, Revolution was due to Corrupt and poverty and economic difficulty in Egypt. I disagree on the part where Egypt is moving to Arabism to Ultra Nationalism otherwise the Secular Parties would have been leading, Arab Nationalists were secularists.
