Israel chose Italian M-346 over Korean T-50

M-346 is better as trainer, T-50 is better as fighter. T-50 is good for poor countries which cant afford normal fighters.

I thought you guys would choose the T-50 since it has a lot of commonality with the F-16s including the engines and stuff. How come you went for a Russo-Italian venture? T-50 was also made with cooperation from US (it reflects in the design).

M-346 is good enough too. I don't know about you and Italy but the Yak-130 would have been the same thing with a better pricing bid. Just an opinion since Uncle Sam won't be too pleased if you acquired the Russian-version of this.

I think the most important aspect of this deal is that Israelis are buying something that flies that is not American. (Or rather US is buying for them).
