All air defense system have weaknesses. For radar, it is coverage and gaps can be created by terrain or ECM, for example. The fact is Isreali Jets dont have any other thing in responce to S-300 missiles that is why they are worried. This could neutralize almost any IAF infiltration.
According to public information...

Here is the scoop on TVM guidance...Missile guidance is of the Track-Via-Missile (TVM) type with the FLAP LID guidance radar capable of engaging up to six targets simultaneously, with two missiles assigned per target to ensure a high kill probability. Maximum target velocity is stated as 4200 km/h with the battery capable of firing three missiles per second.

Look at the advantages and disadvantages.
My opinion? It is preferable to have the missile be as autonomous as possible,. Make the missile perform its own target tracking and targeting the moment it crosses the %50 launcher-target distance threshold, meaning the missile should be on its own when it is halfway to the target. Yes, this capability would make the missile more complex and costly, but losing the battle and finally the war is even costlier.
Take this 'advantage' of a TVM guidance system...
So what happened here is the cost of missile complexity is transferred to launcher radar complexity in using the more sophisticate and costlier phase array system. Any real savings there? Perhaps. But at the cost of making the missile totally dependent on the launcher for everything, from detection, to tracking and to targeting. Too many vulnerabilities in that path. Is the risk of losing the target, possibly a vital facility, possibly a battle, and finally possibly the war itself, worth a cheaper missile?Typically, the target will be aware that it is being illuminated by the SAM radar, but it will not know for certain if it has been engaged. Modern phased-array radars, by virtue of their thin beams and low side lobes make detection by the aircraft even more difficult.
We report. You decide.
