Israel and the New Middle East - All There is to Know

.
@nirreich

May I ask you two questions please?

What would you like to see in the Middle East nowadays? Beside the controversial Iranian nuclear program of course.
What should Israel do in the next coming decades?

Thanks

I wasn't hugely impressed. I watched about 30mins of it and it started well, but didn't really go anywhere.

I agree. The speaker didn't introduce anything new at all. I don't think there's a greater challenge to Israel than the Iranian regime. Ironically enough, In a press conference today the so-called moderate former Iranian Preseident Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani stated that Israel isn't our sworn enemy ,but we will back our fellow Arabs if they go to war with it. It reflects how dramatized some Iranian politicians and yet they contradict themselves by implying that Iran will never fail Hezbollah or the Palestinian Militias, how unwise and vague is that?

One could argue Israel faces other challenges. Water, affordable housing, rising living costs and other domestic problems.

To me, I don't see any difference between the MB or Iran. Both want to wipe us out. So even if we manage to clip Iran's wings - we still have the Sunni bloc wanting to wipe us out.

Rafsanjani was reported to have considered the policy of nuking Israel 10 years ago. There are quotes from him describing a hit on Iran as being just "damages to the Muslim world" - but a hit on Israel would destroy it.

The one thing we do suspect is that Israel has enough to deal with all the countries in the region and beyond. So I think it's high time the Arabs focussed on progressing and building up their nations rather than destroying other people.

I remember exactly what Rafsanjani said then , he said if we have only 1 of these nuclear weapons that would stop them (America) from attacking us , (because of Israel)...

TEHRAN 14 Dec. (IPS) One of Iran’s most influential ruling cleric called Friday on the Muslim states to use nuclear weapon against Israel, assuring them that while such an attack would annihilate Israel, it would cost them "damages only".

"If a day comes when the world of Islam is duly equipped with the arms Israel has in possession, the strategy of colonialism would face a stalemate because application of an atomic bomb would not leave any thing in Israel but the same thing would just produce damages in the Muslim world", Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani told the crowd at the traditional Friday prayers in Tehran.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Arabs will never ever give it a rest, if you ever come to an agreement with Iran(a peace treaty)the arabs will still go for the end of Israel.

Israel is a "third force" in the region , just like 500 is in this forum

Israel is playing the long game. Waiting for the Arabs to evolve.

I did say it was a long game.

When this is achieved and they have given up the tribal mentality and political Islam - peace will take care of itself.

Until then, we arm ourselves to the teeth and defend ourselves with vigour.

We fight for life, they fight for death.

I never discussed in Israeli-internal affairs which are off topic.
The MB is totally different. I know what they want. I don't think they can achieve it easily anyway.

Yes, Iran always tries its best to Islamize their conflict with Israel, that's what the Americans are afraid of by the way. A surgical Airstrike will never be tolerated by the Iranians and require full-force retaliation. A full-fledged will set the whole region on fire or maybe beyond.

An Arab nation isn't necessarily similar to another. The Arabs DO have a problem with Israel but still their interpretations could be variant or the likes.

Its not the arab governments that form the most danger to your country.
The problem is the many fractions,if just one of them(Hamas,Hezbullah,Al-Caida,Islamic Jihad etc) could posses a deadly(nuclear bomb) weapon it would be a real danger.
Lets hope this never happens.

The way they would get these weapons are from nation states like Iran.

Or from disintegrated countries like Syria where weapons fall into the hands of Jihadists.

Iran uses proxies for all of their operations. They're a bit cowardly in that regard. The problem for Israel is not so much a direct strike from Tehran (there are defences for that) but that Iran gives a weapon to Hez who then explode it in a more unconventional manner.

One thing is for sure, the Arabs and/or Iranians will have another concerted go at destroying Israel - when that happens, Israel has to not only defeat the enemy, but bomb them into the stone age.

Sad, but needs must when you have this lot in the region intent on wiping people out.

I can't even get my head around their mentality.

Stone age is the key word here cause if not then the trouble realy begins.
In the case of Iran, they just use anti-israelism to get votes fom muslims(arabs)even if they would have a nuke they would never dare to use it.
Israel has second strike capabilities Iran knows this and would not risk it.
Arab governments wouldnt want Israel gone as long as there is a Iranian threat.
So still it leaves only the various groups.
