ISPR should refrain from commenting on state of the economy: interior minister

anyways appointing Ahsan Iqbal as interior minister was a wrong choice, he is much more interested in CPEC and economy..

$53bn over 9yrs of civilian rule - where did they go?

To the civilians.

Lamborghinis and Audis have become the norm.
Porsche and Hummer are the swag.

When you have no accountability you have many answers.

9 years of civilian rule was set up by a dictator himself.

Dude it's easy to ask questions but hard to give accountable answers.

This good old good cop bad cop won't work anymore.

So obvious people don't have concept of debt and deficit, deficit is down under this government which has provided Roti, Kapra and Makaan for the poor people, but the rich elite commenting here are snowflakes who want more, more, more and more cars and hate Nawaz for helping the poor.

GA SHER
GA JAMHOORIAT

The reason the debt has ballooned is because of our dismal budget deficit. We don't export enough because a lot of the foreign business since 2004 started drying up due to security issues. To make up for the balance of payments on our dues, the government has had to borrow each year. The economy has expanded and grown, meaning different industries need more machinery etc. and they are essentially importing all of that and financing that from the sellers. So this is a natural phenomena. The art is to balance this out and ideally export more than import but for that to happen, our economy would need a major shift from one that is primarily agro-based to one that is manufacturing centric.

I state the obvious but a growing debt is no different than the situation with not having enough power generation. Both are indicators of higher demand and the overall growth of the economy. The balance needs to be refined and made more favourable for Pakistan.

How much of the $53bn went into the economy, and how much lined politicians pocket.

62 billions.

And it will increase because the people don't ask questions because they don't know how taxation works.

They are told.

Humne motorway banayi hai
Humne qarza lekar jo road todi thi wahan or qarza lekar dosri road bana rahe hain
Jab wo aadhi ban jaegi to waha tod kar pipelines daalenge.

Phir or qarza lenge.

Phir hum hawaon me urenge.

Wahi 70 saal kay bhudde wahi 75 sala policy.

Per sawal nahi poch sakta.... Democracy ka khuda naraz hojaega

What you have stated, is the crux of the problem.

I don't think anyone knows the exact figure. However even if 10% pilfer is assumed, the vast majority is still due to the growing needs of the local economy.

I personally think a lot of the corruption assumptions are built upon a perception. The reality is that yes there is pilfer and corruption, but Pakistan's infrastructure has improved significantly. If one expects that all this would happen and no chorri then it is unrealistic.

10%!! Oh you are too kind!

Have you been guaranteed an MPA / MNA seat in the next election, by any chance?

The debate is some how moved to economics rather than the authority or leverage to comment on certain matters which are not related to him , I have repeated stated that DG ISPR is embarrassing all the institution thru his little wisdom , Now the question about comments i think some one can easily share the performance of armed forces or ex armed forces running companies . Fauji Fertilizer / Fauji Foods both are struggling Fauji Food have negative EPS , Things in manufacturing areas are not looking good as well ,its funny that you dont hit stones to a barking dog unless he came to bite you .

the govt should refrain from doing corruption. they should refrain from creating another 71 like situation in the country. they should refrain from lying in bed with the enemies of pakistan. they should refrain from talking non sense all the time against judiciary and military. they should refrain from telling lies all the time. they should refrain giving VIP protocol to the greatest corrupt person in the history of pakistan. they should refrain from living like slaves to few families in pakistan. they should refrain from hypocrisy.
it is a very long list of things they should refrain from.
