One of my very close friend had had an occasion to have dinner, at Mian Nawaz's place, in a family function. He told me later that Mian finished, quite smoothly, 3 special "roghni naans, with quite a good quantity of Mutton qorma. Then came the turn of "pooris" with "chikkar chholay". Dessert was pounced upon at the end of the session. Hence this repeated reference.

I personaly like somewhat thick "tandoori roti" of Desi wheat, though now it is a rarity, in Lahore. Only available in villages. Not much fan of naans, kulchas, pooris etc. etc.

I also am a hearty eater, but, Mian NS can rather be called ferocious, on this account.

I, in addition to mutton, am very fond of vegetables, pulses and beans, when cooked in Desi style. When I was a child, in our lower middle-class households, meat was eaten, very rarely. It was mostly vegetables and daals. Now, with the advent of broilers, meat has become more common.
