i moved away from hinduism as i beleived that the hindus were being misled by their brahmin priests who act for their own self interests. majority of hindu scriptures are ignored or removed from mention by these pundits who realise that hinduism will take a new turn if the true message is sent to the masses. sanskrit being the language most scriptures are written in makes it difficult for the masses 2 question the interpreting by the pundits. just like the testaments when they were written in latin were used selfishly by the christian catholic church for its own agendas. islam opened the doors for a religion which could send a message which could be read by the masses but even there certain priests of the religion "hijacked" the religion for their own cause. later religions like sikhism and buddhism were most practical as the message could be read by the layman for his or her own interpretation
This used to be a huge problem for Muslims where we couldn'r Arabic but being part of the next generation I have found alot of us trying hard now to learning Arabic as the issues inolving rogue Mullahs (which I must add number very small, but are very vocal) has grasped many Muslims who have come to see them through their sheepskin.
Unfortunately, these groups are actively targetting schools and institutions where religious studies cannot be gained. Hopefully this will give more prominence to being educated of the glorious Quran. In a way, stupid TTP and like organisations are reforming Muslim society against themselves.

Here we go again, not a single counter point, just simply "please close this thread". Please justify closing this thread also.
I have had this previously in another thread "the true face of mahatma Gandhi" where not a single post gave a counter argument, just simple disagreements.
Basically what he is saying that Hinduism, Christianity Buddhism are all descended from Islam.
in fairness 2 gazzi i think if you read his posts he is saying that the essence of religions share the same messages in the holy books but that the practice moves away from the message in the books

me thinks no.Abrahamic religions with a single bookand hinduism with a corpus of beliefs where we can take any stance and with a corpus body of literature is entirely different
so the basic hindu scriptures which gazzi quotes are non existent? hindus deny the vedas , puranas etc are their basic scriptures? now that you posted that comment you have answered the question by many posters . what is the purpose of this thread. i would say the purpose has been shown. ignorance by members of religions cause them to worship the wrong message.
See the vedi corpus is divided into two parts Brahmanical literature(Vedas,Upavedas, aranyakas, brahmanas, etc)and the shramana(heterodoxical)literature(upanishads, epics, bhagavatam,
bhagawad Gita)the latter corpus is essentially written by people with a liberal and progressive bent opposing the brahmanical religion so the essence of the two corpuses often takes contradictory stands
