Islam and The West: What Went Wrong and Why

I don't like the notion of clash of civilizations. In early Christian, Judaic and Islamic and civilizations there were many similarities. So what's taking place today is a clash of values/thought that is going on all around the world and most of the time doesn't involve Muslims. So like Left leaning though vs conservative leaning thought vs socialist thought, etc.... In Muslim world there is plenty of 'clash of thought/values' and Muslims are human like everyone else will struggle to agree collectively on a certain 'way' to live life and how to modernize, etc....

So you can't pin two continents or two sides of the world against each other, land has no perspective, humans do. And humans from all sides of the world will formulate different beliefs/thoughts/approach.

Yes men of power are in all spheres and corrupt these always.

Long before Islam, the Greeks draped themselves in the Gods
and the practice became evident and was studied and decried.

So many men speaking of God's intent, so few doing His work.

Great analogy Tay, we can see this in our community too, many people with knowledge and many people memorize Quran but few live by the values God ordained upon us and instead feel comfortable living in a way that hastens our desires. Anyone God wants to understand the truth, he will strip their desires away from them at a measured pace to see if they will buckle or embrace the right path. Those that succeeded were known as Prophet's or 'Saliheen'.
