In the past, a number of reports have suggested that Indian men have been recruited by the Islamic State for Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for their operations in Syria and other places in the Middle East. A few weeks back, a propaganda video surfaced on the internet. The video describes the life of a young male, Abu Muslim (whose name means 'may Allah accept him') who was recruited from Canada. The video shows him narrating his experience of how he was a street janitor in Canada and then moved to Syria. He calls on people to help them in anyway possible including engineers and doctors. He glorifies the cause of Jihad and asks people to come along with their families who "will be taken care of. We have wide expanse of territory in Syria."

The video ends with him being killed in a fight.

As scroll.in reported, their page on Facebook has over 2800 likes. The video has been translated into Tamil as well as Urdu in addition to the Hindi subtitles in the videos. ISIS leader Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi's video earlier has also been translated to Hindi and in a message published last month he has also called on Muslims from India to come and fight for the dignity they deserve.

They definitely seem to have global out reach. I dread to think how many idiots in UK support them.

There are 200 million muslims in india alone,,,

I have said for a long time that Indian muslims need to organise themselves and have a internal army of sorts to protect themselves from communal riots when the Police/security forces/goverment (modi) stand to one side and allow attacks on Muslims EG Gujraat

I hate being right. Its more and more like some cult club instead of what is usually defined as a Terrorist organization. Cant seem to get where they are financed from ? And more importantly, how the hell did they get so organized so quickly.

I think the kind of mentality they have would be easily understandable if we look into the basis of their tortured Islamic rulings; I mean understanding the origin of their jurisprudence. The doctrines they follow are all extremes, in fact, not even stroking the fine line drawn by the traditional school of thoughts. And again in my opinion that those people who follow "an extreme cult" are easily manipulatable specially the newly converted youth (from other religion, from traditional sunnism) whether from India, Pakistan or any part of the world. You will find a mixed picture in the brigade; poor oppressed people and well off unshakeable faith joiners. Funding can be theoretically hypothesized looking closely at who is getting profit from countries adamant to oppose but rich in resources by engaging them in lateral issues as well as countries whose borders can serve the purpose militarily.
