ISIS is getting stronger in Afghanistan: how it happened and why it matter

In no damn way Rebecca Zimmerman had the modesty to acknowledge the fact that the Pakistanis she is referring as part of IS are the ones who had fled Ops Zarb-e-Azb and about those Pakistan Army had in advance communicated with Afghan Govt that they should be stopped from crossing into Afghanistan and restricted in Waziristan and Tirah area so they can be eliminated. But if that did not happen then plz stop dragging Pakistan into it. Has anyone noticed why ISIS managed to raise it ugly head based from the Afghan provinces which border Pakistan. Why not northern Afghanistan, eastern or the areas bordering Iran? A middle eastern phenomena based in Iraq and Syria will somehow skip the huge landmass between Afghanistan and middle east called Iran and somehow teleported itself on the borders areas of Pakistan. Very cute I would say.
Ajit Doval thanks to his Israeli friends was active in Iraq in recent months for this purpose and this it seems is the last ditch attempt to revive the proxy wars against Pakistan from within, where the Al Qaeeda and TTP failed to delivered. Those TTP elements who managed to escape from Pakistan, will ofcourse now be rebranded as ISIS.

According to Zaid Hamid it is the Khawarij TTP et al who are morphing themselves into the Khawarij ISIS (with a helping hand from...) as opposed to mass movements of Khawarij from Iraq and Syria.

So basically they are killing non-loyal muslims, who dont follow theirs true islam.

A full blown alliance between the ISIS and TTP will spell disaster for Pakistan. Though it may take a while, it is clear that the situation spells danger. Seeing that the PA is overstretched in the NW, it's going to be a veritable nightmare to deal with another enemy.

Couldn't agree more. People should not underestimate the threat of foreign ISIS fighters joining the ranks in Afghanistan. This could get really nasty and the Afghans don't seem to have any control judging by the remarks of Ghani. We can't take any risks because Pakistan will as usual be the first country in line to bear the brunt. Better be safe than sorry. Seal the border and avoid ISIS fighters crossing into Pakistan. I'm sure NATO/US can help the Afghans take care of ISIS. We shouldn't get involved in this one.

We know the enemy is restless to create more bloodshed in Pakistan. They cannot fathom the relative success and peace which has returned after the operation Zarb-e-Azb. They thought that Pakistan would drown after unleashing militants from across the border. Little did they know that the Pakistan Army would destroy their cronies. We are onto them now. We are not going to join their crappy war against ISIS. Neither are we going to allow ISIS any space on our soil. This is their problem. Its not about our soil, it never was. Its all about Afghanistan, it has and always be our under belly. Its the "strategic depth" silly, as one might say. We surrendered our strategic depth on platter to those nations who wont spare any opportunity to harm us, and the result is post 9/11 Pakistan. They have managed to extend their strategic depth in Afghanistan and through that, within Pakistan itself. Its a school boy error to understand strategic depth as some sort of military strategy that will allow us to fight India from Afghanistan in case we are overrun by Indian invasion, what a load of bullocks. Iran got strategic depth all the way to Lebanon, in between Iraq and Syria. And here we are, with our pseudo intellectual moan about us having the same in our neighbor. America by virtue of its super power status got strategic depth all across globe. This warning by Zia is still valid today, we got 50K of our dead citizens as a proof of it.

Only muslims? They have killed scores of non-muslims and have literally carried out the genocide of Yazidis, bombed/destroyed all pagan or non-islamic structures. Newsflash!!!
