Egypt’s major Islamic center issued a Fatwa banning Muslims from joining the Takfiri terrorists of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL).
Fatwa Center Spokesman Ibrahim Negm announced the decree on Friday, saying the ISIL’s terrorist activities in Syria and Iraq “serve the enemies of Islam.”
The Sunni cleric also condemned the extremist group for committing crimes in Muslim nations in the name of religion. Negm said the ISIL has adopted the wrong interpretation of Islam.
Fatwa Center is Egypt’s official Islamic body that issues religious edicts.
ISIL, an al-Qaeda offshoot group that has been wreaking havoc in Syria, recently captured a number of cities in northern and north-central Iraq.
On Friday, top Iraqi cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani issued a religious decree calling on people to take up arms and defend their country against the Takfiri militants.
Iraqi men from all walks of life are flocking to recruitment centers to join the army in its fight against the ISIL extremists.

That's not the case, they just people to believe that this is a struggle against Israel/US. Even though Iraq was asking for US support and Iran was willing to cooperate. It goes against the narrative. So they want their people to think it's not that way.
There's no 'ultra-conservative' people in Iran. That conservative stuff happens between them and Sunni's.

According to our intelligence, armed militants have infiltrated into the desert area bordering Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The intelligence confirmed that the militants have used vehicles with Saudi license plates, the senior member of the security committee in the province of Dhi Qar told Al Sumaria network on Monday.
The terrorists are collecting information and planning acts of sabotage in the region, the official said.
Iraqi security forces are monitoring the situation and set up security checkpoints in the region to prevent any possible attack, the official added.
On June 10, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants took control of Mosul, which was followed by the fall of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad. Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced out of their homes since then.
The ISIL militants have vowed to continue their raid toward the capital Baghdad, but Iraqi forces and around 1.5 million volunteers succeeded in halting the terrorists’ advance and pushing the militants back.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has blamed Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the security crisis and growing terrorism in his country, denouncing the Al Saud regime as a major supporter of global terrorism.

KSA built a several 100 km long sealed border. The whole border region is also home to many closed off military areas as well. Only farmers there aside from soldiers. Most of the cities are at least located 50 km from the border. Main cities that is.

As Iraqi army, along with volunteer militia, has stepped up its counter-attack against ISIL militants, the number of Sunni volunteers rushing to recruiting centers has gone up.
Volunteers formed human chains outside several recruiting centers in the capital Baghdad and other cities in a show of unity and solidarity with the Shia Muslims.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Iraqi tribal members as well as clerics in the holy city of Najaf in southern Iraq held rallies to express their support for the army’s fight against terrorists.
As the number of volunteers rises, several new recruiting centers have been set up across Iraq.
Basra governorate has allocated 40 million Iraqi dinar to equip volunteers fighting against ISIL terrorists, a provincial official said.
A senior provincial official in Basra estimated that more than one million citizens will volunteer to join the fight against terrorists.
