Pakistan long had on and off relations with her culturally similar nation Afghanistan, history is open to all and indicates us how Soviet invasion and Afghan occupation of US has crippled law and order in the adjoining geography of Pakistan through spill over. Latest UN reports says that ISIL sympathizers and followers are growing in Afghanistan. Till date Afghanistan is still battling to enforce the fully functional government and law and order in distance opium cultivation lands of hers.
Can this be a direct threat to ongoing process of cleansing of adjoining tribal and savage areas of Pakistan by Army against already weaken Jihadist or will it strengthen the funneling of more ISIL and alliance fighters to spread their influence and dream of total Sharia in the region.

United Nations full report is as follows : Around 70 militants of the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group are busy in forming the core of the group’s branch in Afghanistan, it has been reported.

According to a UN report the terror group is making inroads in Afghanistan with the number of sympathizers and followers growing across the country, Khaama Press Reported.

The report further added that the group is recruiting followers in at least 25 provinces of Afghanistan with 10 percent of the sympathizers belonging to the Taliban group.
The number of groups and individuals who are openly declaring either loyalty to or sympathy with ISIL continues to grow in a number of provinces in Afghanistan,” the report said.

"According to the report the ISIS loyalists and the Taliban militants are fighting each other only in eastern Nangarhar province, citing the drug trade as the main reason behind the brutal clashes."

Abdul Rauf Khade, the former Taliban adviser to Mullah Mohammad Omar, has been described as one of the prominent ISIS fighters who formed his own group in southern Helmand and western Farah provinces after visiting Iraq in 2014.

The report also added that militants from Pakistan and Uzbekistan with some of them having close ties to al-Qaeda terrorist network have come under the ISIS banner after fleeing their country and have “rebranded themselves” in recent months.

Sure ISIS is a threat to Pakistan. The Basque separatists in Spain and the FARC rebels of Colombia are also a threat to Pakistan.

I know you being sarcastic but I have written on substantial report by UN, I guess you might wanna argue with them about it..

Yesterday they were Al-Qaeda.
Today they are Taliban/TTP
Tomorrow they will be ISIS

Primarily these are they same guys assuming identity of the global Islamic terror group which is hot at the moment.
Well I would like to disagree on it, the only common attribute they share is that all these groups are trained by CIA for regional benefits in the middle east but unlike Al-Qaeda which had a short vision of avenging American atrocities in the region and bit of establishing sharia in middle East. On the contrary, ISIL is very ambitious and perhaps avenging the atrocities is not the prime agenda but to control the region for oil and establishing a united islamic prowess.

If you are aware Al-Qaeda long ago broke relation with ISIS claiming them to be too radical and violent after the public beheading of prisoners...

Currently it is not a threat to Pakistan, since Pakistan Armed Forces are on hunting mission and make their nursery a play ground they can't do anything more then merely bomb blasts and its the responsibilty of Intel agencies to stop them.

On the other end ISIS believe to capture lands and rule over it and they can't do it in Pakistan atleast where a 800 thousand war hardend army on top of 70 million armed peoples.

ISIS is successful in countries like Iraq, Syria and now expanding their influence in Afghanistan because of the simple reason that these countries don't have an army worth the name.

In contrast, Pakistan has a professional army and it will not be easy for the ISIS to do what they're doing in Syria and Iraq.

As things stand today, the ISIS is not a threat to Pakistan and probably will never be.

ISIS is arab and North African specific. South Asians are mentally more evolved and will remain unaffected.

Terrorism in Pakistan is near dead; attitude of the awam has shifted.

Poor India
Indian origin ISIS are being arrested in UAE. Not sure what is number in India but this is worrying.

India is facing a bigger problem and could get worse.
But to reach India from Afghanistan they could have to cross inside Pakistan

Current process of Zarb e Azb is defeating terrorism in Pakistan but Afghanistan cannot be healed by Pakistan Army, I hope everyone agrees to it.. if you read the post carefully, I mentioned funneling of fighter who swore alliance to ISIS in Afghanistan can bring back Pakistan Army to combat them again face to face which they are currently doing now... perhaps some years later...

@Menace2Society .. you are always after India, I believe Pakistan has more fighter with ISIS then India... may be some from Kashmir valley and Uttar Pradesh....

This ain't the same UN that said Iraq had super weapons of mass destruction that could destroy america and europe in 30 mins is it? Or the same UN that says israel is under massive threat so they are allowed to kill Innocent Palestinian 5 year olds because these 5 year olds might wipeout israel? . Sorry for the sarcasm but I'm feeling very cynical. The west and nato countries are reluctant to send their own troops to fight ISIS (not including small numbers of special forces to carry out limited operations) so they're looking for idiotic cannon fodder. Great, lets send in the Pakistani military to implement american foreign policy in the Middle East. Tell you what, let's send in the israelis. They are a super advanced super power military with at least a million allegedly highly trained troops. They are america's closet ally aswell. Why can't they fight ISIS. Better than fighting and killing old people, women, children & little girls. Forget to mention, the Celtic Ginger-haired freedom movement in Scotland and Germany are also a threat to Pakistan's national security.

By the way, the Looney party based in Brighton in England are also a threat to Pakistan. As is the Latino society in Kings College in London. They're all planning Pakistan's demise. I'm so scared.
