well I was agreeing with him till his rant about mir shakeel ur rehman. Geo, Dawn if let loose they instead of defending Pakistan in hybrid war, would be first weapon of choice for the enemy. Mir Shakeel, muhib e watan.... haha nice joke, their priority/motivation has always been money.

And about the Jangs headline on Kalbhusan, that too is because govt has jang/geo grabbed by the bawls, yehi chooro na mir shakeel ko phir headlines check karna.....

This was the moment when I switched the channel ... because it was evident that this interview was engineered and planted to gain sympathy for MSR.

With all due respect, but Muhammad Amir living in past ..
His soft corner for PTM and Taliban comes from the Pashtoon connection, so Gen sahab for you your RACE and Ethnicity is more then country , second the same India you are so against toe line of Geo and Jung group and its owner Mir Shakeel ur Rehman you are so hell bent in proving to be a Saint , All Journalist working in GEO including this Salim na-Safi is racist scum and anti state for them first its money , then their Pashtooniate and later bagairti ..
Thirdly if Nawaz , BB and PTM are not national threat then why Pakistan is not a Asian Tiger ? both Govt has ruled and make corruption cases on each other, both have treason cases such as memo gate so how come they are not National threat ? I used to like Muhammad Amir but i think now he is just looking for some under the table money and recognition of his Pashtoon background .. nothing he said was PRO Pakistan or was in Favor of Pakistan for its better future .. Glad that he was kicked/booted/left Army/ISI earlier .

He's from a by-gone era and some very specific wings/sections of the ISI --- I would say even somebody retiring 5-10 years ago would have little of value to say that can be applied to the present, let alone somebody living in the past like this gentleman.

For sure if he is involved in treason, MSR should not be spared... but a large media house or some members of it, can be sold out/pressurised by centre.. bcz govt gives adverts, controls broadcast etc... True culprit is Meryam for memo (leaking)... and Hussain Haqqani... and that noob enthusiast reporter, who tried to name Kasab, as Pakistani for TRPs...
What major might be saying, Jang isn't enemy.. it is a tool, was used by N League... So we don't blame the tool but real culprits.. I mean we can forgive many Baloch separatist, MQM personals and also TTPs, so why not Mir Shakil...
However, no room for money laundering or monetary corruption... Besides this era of perception war, anything damaging to country reserve or economy, should be dealt with iron fist. As economy is real engine for armed forces, sovereignty, independence...
Lastly, believing old people are irrelevant is so cliche.. Yes, they don't know new tools but they know the game/theory.

The state's inability to prosecute brazen traitorous tendencies is the leading reason for the confusion among the populace. These elements hijack rights movements for them to act as a front for undermining national interest. The courts are an accessory to this behavior by letting them go scot-free.

The old guard does know the game, but they are hanging on to their way of doing things which might actually be counter-productive given the fast nature of how things play out in a multi-faceted threat environment.

This may be one way of looking at the things - I agree.

However, this guy - MSR, has long history.

He has always been hand and glove with any power for his monetary interests and forward his media empire.

His crimes are not so much anti-state, per se.....but to aid the anti-state elements, creating an environment against state institutions, pressurising those who are weak and vulnerable, committing financial crimes and so on.

He is powerful enough to get the backing of international powers.

My policy: Dont read and listen to any thing coming from Salim Safi. The guy is so full of himself in the pretentious garb of humbleness.
Have heard a lot about Maj. Amir from some journalists but what can he do now.

And he is talking about our values. The right of MSR to look after his mother. Unfortunately, for the old guard these privileges are for a select class of people. They know each other on personal level (like the major admits) and provide concessions to each other even after the gravest crimes.

For a common man. Smallest of mistakes can lead to years in prison without trial.
