Ishihara rattles saber against China

I did not understand the concept of nuclear umbrella, suppose china nuked tokyo so by this nuclear umbrella thing USA is obligated to nuke Beijing ? and get nuked in return ?

The nuclear umbrella is only on the paper. If China nukes Tokyo, would the US put the life of their 300 million people on the table just for Japan? That's up to them.

If Uncle Sam cannot prevent NK produce nuclear weapons, turn on green light for Japan would be a good way to create a new balance for Northeast Asia region. :coffee:

I hope Chinese leaders are not as stupid as you!
Do you really think the US makes empty threat?

When have viets become so wise on world powers or strategic? US can threat China with nothing militarily. IF US dares to use nuclear weapon we would throw our bombs all over the world including on your little pennLs. With a few hundred nuke explosion everybody on the earth would die. You little viets believe that you can celebrate US attack on China somewhere with a few homebrew chics? wet dreams!

Pls don't involve youselves in something you don't understand.

I just wonder how many Chinese like you think so.

Again, we stay neutral in this dispute between China and Japan. We sit and watch the show. I just want to remind you possible consequences of a thing called nuclear umbrella. It is not wise to bet, and put China´s fate on the table. Why will you run mad if it comes to a confrontation with Japan and America? and nuke the world?

Chinese Sympathizer living in the Canada?

is there something wrong with a chinese living in canada? does loving ones country mean not being allowed to go anywhere else? you must hate india then, given your in the US and not india

Ishihara is just your average right wing bigmouth who tries to make a name for himself like his predecessor, Koizumi did back in the early 2005. As you guys might know, Koizumi made himself look good to the western hemisphere (especially with the US) while antagonizing China, Russia and both Koreas during his term while blazing the Ultranationalistic flame he had lit up. It was also that from this point on, Japan saw its lean to the right, with the rise of popularity of Ultranationalist groups (The nutcases who denies the existence of Japanese war crimes). But these actions soon backfired which as a result, saw some of the worst management and inflation in the Japanese financial sector due to the zero-rate policies Koizumi had imposed. Ishihara is just someone who tries to feed off of the remaining popularity of the right wing while he still can.

In the Netherlands, we had this same rightwing nutjob politician called Wilders, who had all of these impossible ''good''-sounding ideas. For example, he called on the Belgian region of Flamings (a predominantly Dutch speaking region) to seperate itself from Belgium and let themselves to be annexed by Holland. He also suggested to step out of the EU and the break of the Schengen Treaty (free movement of persons and goods within the EU zone, vital to the Dutch export economy and Holland's position as Europe's export hub).

Anyway, he blew up his coalition government which by now had lost the majority in parliament without the PVV's seats after being barely a year into office. Most rightwing politicians won't be able to keep their promises by the end of the day, just because of the fact that their promises are just way too vague and ambiguous. Ishihara and Koizumi are no exceptions. Democracy, dualism and the limited amount of time they have, just won't allow that!

Yes, the US did just that for China back in 1969.

This is something that a Chinese person who sees the world only in terms of loss/gain would not understand; it's called the one's principle.

dude, if you nuke Japan, you also nuke the US Air and Naval Bases in Japan, that = Declare nuclear war to US, will you think US will launch their nuclear arsenal if US personnel were already killed in an Nuclear Exchange?? This is the very reason we have personel station in japan still now. This is also the reason why Japanese still allow US Military Base in Japan.

Or China have some sort of weapon that can nuke Japan and keep US bases in Japan unharm, if so, i want to hear that.

You mean Japan=US, China=Mexico like relations? The other way is not possible.

Do you really want to go back to the days of Huns, Xianbeis, Mongols, Manchus, and Japanese ruling over China? I don't get it.

Before WWII, China was never ruled by the Japanese, at most only coastal villages were savaged by Japanese pirates back in the old days if I remember correctly
