ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in his post-budget news conference, yet again painted a rosy picture of government’s economic policies and claimed Pakistan is going to become Asian Tiger.

He said our mission is to save Pakistan from bankruptcy like we did in 2013. He defended imposition of new taxes and said the government’s targets are very clear to achieve tax targets.

Finance Minister said we are going to become Asian Tiger. The government believes in revival of agriculture sector.

“Keeping in view difficulties faced by the agriculture sector the government has announced relief for farmers and has taken special steps in the budget,” he said.

He promised that the government will soon make chicken meat cost between Rs150 to 200.

He said that measures are being taken to enhance exports targets. After the competition of operation Zarb-e-Azb economy will be improved further.

“We have set the exports target and will achieve it in stage wise,” said.

The minister said that government will monitor the markets to keep prices in control during the Ramazan

If he means, GDP growth of 7% a year on average then I can see Pakistan achieving this before 2020.

it will be a miracle if we achieve 5% under this government, the figure 4.5% they showed this budget is just to make people fool in real its around 3.7%.

U guyz have missed the story behind his optimism...or are too blind to see it....

Tax collection has hit 31 trillion from 19 trillion 3 years ago ... this year will go above 40 trillion...
War is nearly over .... energy crisis is going to get resolved ... and cpec effect will kick in in few years.....

He is right.....

He is right.....

I think you're the one missing the point. You don't become an 'Asian Tiger' by having your finance minister say so...

Neither does tax collection the sole reason behind the rise of the Asian Tigers.

I am not an economist, so I will have to just go on personal feelings... may b CPEC will help us in next few years
