Countries spend large part of their budget on law enforcement via police,and equip their police force with best of equipment..
Most of our police have less fire power than an average criminal.
No high powered sniper rifles,no air support via choppers,no gadgets.

Many times the terrorists were visible and clear head shots could be taken,and the terrorists could have been killed and dealt with,only if the police had training and equipment for sniper fire...
Terrorists had Kalashnikov,police had Kalashnikov and same was the so called elite commandos...
How can an under equipped police force ever enforce law?

Under equipped? Yes.

Underpaid? Perhaps.

Corrupt to the core? Definitely.

Just another institution that mirrors the govt - ineffective and broken.

Following our shortage of bucks, Our Primary focus should be to strengthen as much as possible the following three;

Education
Investment for the economic, technological & military Independence & Rise of future. Also, the solution of most of our problems.

Health & cleanliness
Health no doubt is important, and if we spend on cleanliness of our cities, we can save huge public spending on treatments, most of the common diseases are a result of pollution and unhygienic environments, if that is controlled it will bring relief to budget of a poor family.

Law & Reinforcement
It is the most important if we strengthen this institute we can implement new laws and restore the fabric of our society, then our policies and orders from authorities would show a physical presence.
(of course, a secure and peaceful environment would lead to increase in investments, ventures, more investments from abroad & also more public spending on luxury items (since people try to avoid or limit luxury living in an insecure environment) expanding the market)

I know, for that we need a corruption free government, but that seems impossible!!! So, by the above three institutions we can at least sort out other matters which don't bother our leaders!

Could this attack be avoided or better handled if the police were better equipped?
They dont even seem to have communication with the police station being attacked.

Here again,terrorists outnumber and outgun the Police.

Definitely NOT... A regular cop gets around 20000 rs per month! thts quiet reasonable.

pakistan Police is not trained and equiped wel, that is sure plus They Are Heavily Courpt, so Called Elite Force is Recruited from punjab police, Fitness level of our police is quite bad , nw a new squad frm Punjab police is emerged , which is called ATS. ( anti terrorist Squad ). They are Trained By Elite Ssg Commandos Of PA. I saw their training which is quite though, lets hope they wil perfome better

I dont think elite force is take frm any provincial police but rather its recruited like regular police and is on escort duty with politicians most of the time.
