Some friend has told me on Facebook that Pakistan is not producing Type 56 in POF and it comes from China. Is that guy right ? And if yes than why we are not producing them at POF WAH ?

I don't know exactly but Pakistan army using large number of Chinese made Type-56, may be it is more economical to get ready made product instead of building at home.

They produced it and later stopped because it was costlier to produce than buy directly from China.

Russia also protested when Pak marketed the weapon due to license issue..

Probably because of a licensing issue, on a different note which variant of the T56 is it in the pic, the front sight is not fully hooded apparently (can't really make it out due to the pic resolution) and the butt stock is not the one mostly seen with T56s in the PA

How is producing it more expensive then buying it directly?

That's not a type-56 ... That's Russian or former Warsaw state produced weapon... Most probably captured from Taliban and put to use.

Not worth it when you are equipping only a limited number of troops and looking for a new replacement for the main (battle rifle)... However POF did produce them initially ... And even marketed them in the international market .. Which lead to Russian protests over copy right... etc.. All in all it wasn't economically feasible.

What about Pak Army battlefield rifle? What happened to the selection process.

Did the POF made T-56 perform at the same standard as the Chinese model.
