What's new

Is Pakistan the only odd one remaining in the region when it comes to system of governance?

In this day and age of social media, a new narrative can be introduced, inline with the regional realities.

Great idea, I want to see its implementation forthwith to let the perceived majority have their way so that you may realize your wish for Pakistan to be what it was born to be as you have described above. Bring on the narrative!

Its not "perceived" majority as you are making out to be. If I remember correctly, not long ago, there was a thread on this forum about how majority of Pakistani want sharia law.

Thanks for you support though. ;)

Well, please keep in mind that it may take more than one poll and your personal opinion to have an actual majority that can assert itself. IF said majority exists indeed, then I support its right to have its voice heard.

For the argument sake, say that this majority doesn't exist. Purely from academic level, how Pakistan present outlook is justified when its building block was made out of completely different material. Those who are evolving Pakistan according to their own wishes and agenda (the likes of enlighten moderators), the fundamental structure of the building doesnt comply with their endeavours. Building can easily collapse when its building block is simply not compatible with the growth of infrastructure above.

These regional changes give us a good opportunity to auto correct.

Fair point, but let me just say that if this "good opportunity" is not taken, what do you think it might mean for your rationale to "autocorrect"?

We also slowly need to come up with our system and that suits us best

I think millitary can be involved but we have to legalize some powers and create red lines for others
Switching to a presidential democracy would be a good first step.

not a good idea, good for administration but Punjab will dominate it, more so than in a parliamentary system
not if its representative like the US each state gets 2 senetors in the upper house but the lower house is population based.

Exactly, Pakistan is in complete control of liberal leftist elite, on the opposite, you see in its neighbour, India, Iran and Afghanistan, every aspect of their statehood is under the firm control of right wingers.

Pakistani elite might be personally liberal. they might be fine with their daughters being liberal. but they turn around and look the other way at the Taliban, honor killings, blasphemy laws. Call it hypocrisy

Left wing ideology is driven by economics. pakistan has more big feudal landlords than any other regional state. pakistan is not a left wing state in terms of economics.

.
Declaring India as a right wing country is nothing more than libel.

India is socially conservative and economically liberal. India used to be more economically leftist than it is now, but that is slowly changing.

These two statements are paradoxical.

All the feudal lords are diehard liberals, starting from their Baap Bhutto.

In nutshell:

On east: we got a Hindu extremist/terrorists regime controlling India firmly.

South west: A mullah regime of Iran, extreme right wing. Been there for decades.

North west: A western sponsored liberal/corrupt government just got toppled by Taliban, a extreme right wing outfit.

North: China, a country run by it own indigenous system of governance.

Pakistan, on the other hand is still run by liberal western inspired system, people both in civil and military taking inspiration from western ideas and ideologies. Still running western inspired liberal western democracy, where country masses by en large are inclined towards right wing.

Pakistani system it seems is not inline with realities of today's world, in particular with the region it is situated. Right wing politics is surrounding Pakistan, yet it is still beating the dead horse of liberal left wing, western inspired system of governance. Pakistan indeed is looking odd one in the region.
200 years old system of government. Pakistan is 200 behind in governornce from rest of Europe usa n China. Moraly corrupt nation.

How can support for blasphemy, honor killings and outfits like the Taliban make someone "liberal" ?

The only thing feudals approve of is honor killing which has no basis in Islam and stems from their native cultural baggage.

Also, in a similar vain how can khooni liberals support indiscriminate war machines like drones that has overwhelmingly killed civilians and that too with vicious and brutal protocols of signature strike and double tapping which if perpetrated by anyone other than a western power, would constitute a war crime. Well I guess khooni gives it away.

Who are Taliban? Afghan? Where they reside? Afghanistan? Which country they control? Afghanistan? So what we in Pakistan got to do with them running things in their domain?

I am struggling to see how you are not understanding that Pakistani neighbours are completely under the thumb of right wingers, rather right wing extremists. Nukes in the hands of Hindu lunatics is not a nightmare scenario, its a reality.
