What's new

Is Pakistan more corrupt than before?

Nah
In my humble opinion, the PPP-Zardari Government of 2007-12 should take the title of most corrupt.
People here wrongly consider PML-Nawaz/Patwari Government to be the most corrupt, but they conveniently forget that most of their serious issues got sorted out during PMLN rule.
I met an expat from Lahore, in Doha a few months ago , he told me that people here just hate Nawaz for the sake of it. They don't see the development that has happened in Punjab under PMLN , be it motorways, metro bus, 4G internet, reduction in Loadshedding and the Defeat of TTP and their allies

Although PML-N was less corrupt than PPP but they fucked up pretty badly. For them optics were more important than national interest. For example there is Metro Train project going on in Lahore. Now people will think that Govt. is doing work and country is improving but 1. The project was very expensive and not profitable 2. They took money to finance it from other department. My father is a retired teacher and at the end they get a package from Govt. and now the Edu. Dept. doesn't have money because Govt. illegally used the money for other projects. And this is just the tip of the ice berg.

Yes.

Corruption has increased massively due to poor reforms and inflation over the past year.

PTI government has failed its mandate and masses.

Extreme frustrations run in the society as Kashmir issue rages on.

They are just abused for sake of abuse or politics.

Failing miserably despite having no opposition and having the full support of the establishment - unlike PPP and PMLN.

But let's not say this out loud or the zealots on this forum will be upset with us.

By how much prices have gone up? Can anyone provide an objective analysis.. comparing the official prices of some daily grocery items like milk, chicken, yoghurt, ... also we need to account for the seasonality in the prices. Would be great to see a chart of prices for the last two years.

He means corruption rate has doubled. Now you need to pay more to get your file moving.

As for the corruption at the top most levels, I think Pak had already reached the saturation level- thanks to the proxy traitors sent to kill Pak from inside!!! It wouldn't have been possible to push it further!! Hopefully, under IK it's going down...

LOL when wasn't corruption present in Pakistan?

When Imran Khan says that he would like to put corrupt people behind bars everyone loses their minds. These words suddenly become uncivilised and harsh.

Here we are crying rivers about corruption. It is pathetic how during Imran Khan's era everyone has suddenly found a voice against corruption. This corruption was much much worse when Nawazoo and Zardari were ruling. I never heard people question corruption.

Well then how can you or any other make such false claim

So that's my point... when you're stating a figure.. you need to back up your claims with facts and if you deny that in the very next post of yours then it means your claim was false in the first place
Only if it was that simple.... Sharif's would be spending the rest of their lives in jail.

If you want proof, go to any land registry office and literally ask for anything. My brother went to get a copy of land registry (fard) and came back angry because they refused to issue fard with out getting paid.

It is not imran khan's fault. It is the greed that has ingrained in dna of Pakistani people unfortunately. Need to demolish the whole system and rebuild

NO

It's only the corrupts are getting exposed now. No one is safe while doing their under the table bullshit.
Hence, what used to be hidden all along is not being exposed.

You can't compare the normal bribing activity with the multi-layered and highly technical corruption done by harami family over the last 3-4 decades.

What I know is that most corrupt officers are pretty open about it though they have become a bit afraid now due to the fear of the govt but still govt has not done anything against the corruption in bureaucracy.

People should make videos and expose such elements. It may cause some problem but in the end, the corrupt officers will be exposed and removed.

He met only one expat from Lahore and you made up his mind. LoLzzz
Lahore has received like 90% of Punjab's development during the ethnofascist govt of Noora-leauge

Well people are scared to do any such thing.
The day public says no to corruption is the day we will see the change.

One thing I tell you that there's always the option of non-corruption but people take the convenient way. Many people get the traffic ticket for genuine reasons.. but they opt to bribe the traffic warden and same goes for many other situations. In fact, there are many honest bureaucrats as well who decline bribes but still people offer and even force them to commit corruption and do their illegal affairs.

Most of the people get driving license through paying the bribe but my cousins in Pakistan in fact followed the procedure, learned the rules and pass the test ... and you know what... they got it without paying any bribe.
