That's not really your call to make.

We are talking about a country that most Indians consider as actively sponsoring terrorists. I don't see why calling out such a country, even in a provocative manner is flawed. He voiced what many Indians feel. Right or wrong, is beside the fact. He is giving voice to that on an international stage. It might have hurt your national pride, but that's not relevant.

Did any US president bother to look at how many people lived in USSR when they demonized that country? Do they bother about how many people are in Iran? I don't see how 200M people are relevant in the context.

Besides, there is always a distinction between the state and people in such cases; be it explicit or implicit.

As for PDF, I am sure you are aware that there are numerous posts here on PDF that celebrate attacks in India, there are open talks of supporting insurgencies. Just today I liked a post that stated that Pak would align with anyone, even terrorists if they hurt India. I liked it because I felt that was honest.

Modi is as populist as a politician gets. Thats his strategy and it works in getting him votes. Sharif is of a different kind. He has members within his party who do the Modi kind of populist chanting, first and foremost his own brother Shahbaz Sharif. He himself however does like to keep himself away from petty talk which can I suppose be seen as more dignified given his position.
