Russia will sell them as along as they can make money or it serves Russian interests. Russia is even selling S-400 to China and Turkey with whom Russia fought direct wars.

Exactly, and in fact Russia has already delivered S-400 to China knowing it very well that the latter will try to reverse-engineer it. But Russia does not care because she is developing S500 which is a lot more powerful and advanced system.

Only way to counter S-400 is to have more electronic warfare components and devices. Modern long range radars, more AWACS, more digital and electronic capability in fighter jets and ground detections on border points.

S-400 is a super hyped system. It can be defeated in many ways. It is not invincible.

Any system can be defeated no matter how expensive and good.

The S-400 is a very capable system in its defined role, but that is also where its limitations are. Any anti-missile system can be overwhelmed. The S-400 might require more missiles to overwhelm, but it will be overwhelmed in theater of electronic warfare.

Anti-missile systems are getting better, but they will never beat the numbers superiority game as opposed to missiles, fighters etc. Missiles and other projectiles are also getting smarter.

The S-400 is not a magic wand that will suddenly destroy everything coming in its path. It is just another layer in the whole scheme of things.

Export versions are always standard products by definition!!!! To go for the "killer" you must have your own solutions!!! No exceptions....
